Can we use faculty acceptance to start applying for student housing?

I'm an international student applying for masters and haven't heard from the IO yet about my application. Since it's getting late and the housing situation seems like a nightmare, is it okay to just go ahead with my application using the faculty's acceptance or do I absolutely have to have the acceptance letter from the IO? Has anyone tried doing it through just the faculty's acceptance?

Rejected from IO for not having dept. acceptance letter

I applied to a non-restricted master's program with an IO deadline of Aug 21 2026 (provided you have an acceptance.)

I was really concerned of the july 15th deadline, and so only managed to send my IO application on 20th july (received by LMU) I maybe should've just waited because I didn't submit my acceptance letter. Since they said it can be handed during registration, I thought I would get an acceptance on the condition I get accepted by the dept. However, i got a rejection stating it was late and there is no acceptance letter.

I received an email with an attached pdf stating my acceptance from the dept. yesterday. What should I do now? I can send additional documents up till Aug 21. Do I send the pdf on the email printed out to the IO by post? It seems a bit far-fetched to ask by post just a pdf sent to my email by LMU back to LMU (even if they're different offices)

Or must I be sending the acceptance letter by the dept. (original or photocopy?) I get by post to the IO by post again? If I send the original, how will I have it when I'm supposed to give it for registration? And am I not supposed to show the dept. acceptance letter and the IO admission letter, both during visa? I'm not sure if I'll finish enrollment/registration before visa as I need to get started with the visa soon if I want to be at LMU before October.

I'm really confused so I'd appreciate help here on what I should do

Why are summer sem students so braindead?

Okay not surprising they are, given the kind of shit you have to do to be at summer sem. But MY GOD.

so I'm in summer sem rn because turns out I had some credits left before I could leave college (final year) and I'm having to stay back for a fresh course. I thought there were going to be at least a few decent people I can talk to this sem but by far I have only seen soulless people trampled by life walking around the campus every single day. (Btw you will only see one UG kid per day) No place is populated in campus at all except you know what? The gully.

The lack of personality in the campus is so ghastly. It is the extreme opposite of a regular sem. Leave the population. Regular sem is overpopulated. Summer sem is so sparse, it is relaxing to take a walk. But in regular sem people have the capacity to hold a conversation with some fucking nuance. That is so fucking missing in summer, everyone is so horrendously stupid. Like I'm sure deep down they're smart but they're so zombified it's so fucking concerning.

Like I'm not expecting people to be like very bookish smart, right? I don't give a shit if you're grades are tanking. But how do you have absolutely nothing in your life? Like no favourite book, no favourite movie. Anything to show you've lived a little. It's always something about how they got absolutely wasted and high or something. Like if that's your thing, it's cool do it. But how's that your entire personality???

It's so fucking annoying because there has got to be just one person still here who can actually fucking talk and is a person in themselves. And not some drug taking robot. All I want to do is take a stroll around campus with a conversation that is at least in the slightest meaningful. Doesn't mean informative, but something we can connect on even if it's banter. Everyone in summer's having the worst fucking conversations known to mankind, riddled with insecurities and power dynamics. Like goshh when's the last time u lot have actually had a carefree mindful mind?

So far I've only met guys here. I'm sure it's no different with girls. On average, girls tend to be more engaged with hobbies than guys but I don't think summer sem will reflect the statistic. What even is this sem lol??

Is there not even one person here who can actually talk and has fresh perspectives? 😭 Someone with a little wit please. It absolutely stresses me out how no one sees the absolute amount of fun you could have in campus taking nice strolls, kicking a ball in kc lawn etc. Summer sem guys btw, for you all in vacations, is everything regular sem dreams of being restrictions wise. but no let's give ourselves lung cancer in the gully.

EDIT: this is not an invitation. I'm asking if someone exists rhetorically to highlight absence.
