Anyone have any experience when they booked a ticket if they used a middle name instead of a given name (both given and middle name appear on the person's ID) when flying domestic, if they will give you a hard time at the gate?

Porter wants to charge $100 for a name change on the ticket so just trying to see if it is necessary to update or not. Ticket was booked third-party.
