Hey, thought I might do a quick run-thru about what I miss in Ratnagiri.

1. Night-Life : It is mostly non-existent, after 10 you will rarely find anything other than ice cream shops open. And if any place stays open till night it is far from the city centre. (Ratnagiri city --> Maruti Mandir line)
2. Café culture : Every café is a copy of the last one you visited, right from the interiors, vibes, to the food offerings. apparently they try to serve everything but no single thing special about them(Jack of all trades... kinda.) don't let me start about what THEY THINK a PIZZA is!!
3. Culinary Monotony : Cafes aside even restaurants mainly focus on either Chinese (god knows why Ratnagiri is obsessed over it), Maharashtrian or North Indian (the made up restaurant kind North Indian food - not real food from that region). A few choices are present like westbay or clove, but that is it.
4. No community activities : Forget meeting new ppl. no community building tools available like hobby workshops, mixers/group dates, gigs or indie supper clubs. nothing of that sort.
5. Tourism & Civic issues : The local Sightseeing spots are always crowded, even if you find a secluded spot it is a either an alcoholics spot or couples escape ground. not to mention people here litter a lot, like bruh keeping that wrapper of chips in your pocket isn't that hard. and why is there always alcohol bottles and aluminium food containers in pairs, does your alcohol dealer not have any spot to sit and drink quietly??

I made sure I put all my pain points here doesn't mean this place got no good things.
But for those who have lived elsewhere- what do you miss the most?
Did i miss any points, or are we collectively craving a decent cuppa coffee and a night out? 😂 Lets talk!!!(and actually comment something productive)

Hey fellow Ratnagiri-kars,

I need to get something off my chest. Is it just me, or is the cold coffee scene in our city deeply tragic?

Every time I go out craving a decent cold coffee, I end up with a glass of chilled, sugary thick slop with shit ton of chocolate syrup and no traces of Coffee..

Am I missing some hidden gem? Where do you guys go when you want actual coffee flavor and not just liquid sugar?

Just to be clear: well am not looking for some highend coffee bar just some nice thick chilled coffee with actually some decent amount of coffee in it.
