Finally got around to restoring this beautiful bench!

My girlfriend received this bench from her grandma a few years ago. As soon as I laid eyes on this bench I could immediately see the potential. It was heavily weathered and loose but the bones were solid. Plus 98% of the hardware were still present and in great shape. Well we finally got around to getting it restoring it and it came out beautiful! Its been about a decade since I personally have done a similar project and forgot how much I love the process. All of the wood is still the original, we just sanded it down, stained it, and put a good 5 layers of a glossy clear coat. The cast iron legs and back we cleaned up real good, used a wire brush drill attachment to clean off as much rust as possible and scuff up the surface, primed it, and used a clear gloss black enamel. We felt it deserved to shine bright after being dull for so long. Super happy with the result and felt like I had to share!

Super happy with the 8 Classic!

Upgraded from the 6 classic 47mm to the 8 classic after stumbling on a great deal. I have to say the "squircle" design has definitely grown on me and it allows the watch to sit on my wrist a lot better overall. I know the screen size is smaller than the 6C and I was initially worried about that but once its on my wrist I hardly notice a difference.

The biggest differences I feel is how much lighter the 8C is compared to my 6C. The lighter weight combined with the design sitting on my wrist better allows less movement throughout the day. The 6C would wiggle around and shift occasionally and I would have to readjust it. I do not have that issue with the 8C and it sits on my wrist with minimal movement.

One aspect that surprised me was the battery life. On my 6C I would average 2 days before needing to charge, with sometimes pushing 2.5 days which I thought was pretty good in itself. However the 8C I can get 3 days and some change which is a pretty nice boost. I did turn off AOD and wrist to wake but kept the bezel to wake. I also use the power saving mode to further extend battery without limiting health features.

The last thing I want to point out is the bezel. I absolutely love this style and feel of the bezel. It reminds me of the S3 frontier I had years ago. I loved the bezel on the 6C but much prefer this one on the 8C with the clicky feel and better grip imo. I also notice I have less accidental bezel touches especially when I am asleep which is nice.

While the 6C is still a phenomenal watch, overall I am super happy with the upgrade and love the feel and look of the this 8C. It is turning into one of my favorite iterations of the classic series!

Can not believe this amazing deal!

I have been using the 6 classic for over a year with no real plan to upgrade to the 8 classic anytime soon. However I came across this amazing deal on Tiktok and could not pass it up! Seems like a steal at this price so time for the upgrade. Excited for it to arrive!
