Success with oblong follicle (20x13mm)? Worried it's too small.

Hi everyone,

After lots of failed cycles today my leading follicle measured 20mm x 13mm today (average 16.5mm). My lining is 9.7 mm trilaminar. My blood work shows a natural LH surge of 30 and my doctor says I will ovulate on my own in 24 hours.

I am really anxious because the average size is only 16.5mm. I'm worried the egg is immature because the follicle is oval-shaped instead of a round sphere.

Has anyone had success or a healthy pregnancy with a follicle like this? Do they grow before rupturing ?

Thank you!

Terrified : Clinic hinting at IVF after just first mediacted stalled ovulation induction cycle.

Hi everyone,

31F on my first medicated cycle with lean PCOS and high AMH (8.13) and high lh:fsh ratio. Husband report is normal, my both tubes open.

Current Status:follicles stalled at 13mm on 2.5 mg and 5 mg, in same cycle and stair-stepped up to a high dose of 7.5mg. It rescued my lining (now a perfect 7mm–8.6mm!), but my follicles after 2 days of stopping 7.5mg are 4 dominant follicles sitting around 12mm–14mm.

My Dilemma:Doctor wants to start low-dose FSH injections (Gonal-F) for the final push as my fsh is low and estrogen only 52. However, the clinic is already hinting at IVF if this fails.I want to firmly avoid IVF and stick strictly to natural timed intercourse at home. If this cycle fails, I just want a fresh oral/hybrid cycle next month.

Has anyone had slow growth like me and still succeeded?

Ovulation induction with high amh pcos

Hi everyone, looking for some advice I have pcos with amh 8 . I am on my first medicated monitored cycle with letrazole 2.5mg . My follicles seem to have completely stalled out this cycle, and my estradiol (E2) is dropping. Here are my stats:

CD 10: Follicles 11mm, 10mm | E2: 31

CD 15: Follicles 13.5mm, 10mm | E2: 44

CD 17: Follicles 13.5mm, 11mm | E2: 24

My RE just recommended "stair-stepping" by adding another round of Letrozole at 2.5mg right away without waiting for a period.

Has anyone had similar experience with stair-stepping after a stall and dropping E2? Did it finally get your follicles to mature, or did you have to cancel the cycle? Thank you!

Blood tests mandatory during letrazole monitoring?

Hi everyone,

I’m about to start my first monitored letrozole ovulation induction cycle and my fertility clinic told me they want to do blood tests at every ultrasound monitoring visit (possibly every 2–3 days until ovulation , a total of 3-4 tests in a cycle).

I’m wondering if this is standard practice.

For those who had monitored letrozole cycles:

* Did you have blood drawn at every ultrasound?

* Or was monitoring mainly done with transvaginal ultrasound, with only occasional blood tests?

The reason I’m asking is that I have borderline normal hemoglobin and ferritin, and I don’t tolerate frequent blood draws very well.

I’d really appreciate hearing about your experiences and whether this depends on the clinic or the country.

Thank you!

Advice : Hycosy before Ovulation induction?

I have PCOS with irregular cycles (typically 40–80 days), high AMH (~6 ng/mL) My RE wants me to do a HyCoSy to check fallopian tube patency before starting ovulation induction with letrozole.

For those who did letrozole/ovulation induction:

* Did your doctor require a HyCoSy/HSG before starting fertility treatment?

* Did anyone start letrozole first and do the tube test after a few cycles?

* Looking back, would you recommend doing the tube test upfront or waiting 2–3 cycles?

I’m trying to balance not wasting time with not doing more procedures than necessary. Would appreciate hearing your experiences.
