Meet Amour-Marie the Ghost!

This is my final main character, Amour-Marie the ghost! She's going to be friends with Vyna, Kelqi, and Surf! She is by no means the last character I'll ever come with, but I had designed these characters based off of music genres and vibes I really liked, and Amour is based on my preference for soul, RnB, dance pop, and other soothing 'evening'-type music. I'm going to make an intro video for her on my IG!

Hello! I hope you all are doing well and I hope that this is the correct subreddit to post this to.

So I live in New York in the United States. I completed my BA in Linguistics in 2023 with a local university and I am currently working on my Master's in TESOL/ESL Education which I hope to complete in 2027. I have been thinking about getting a PhD in Linguistics for a while now, and I have been trying to keep my options open, so I have been looking at Linguistics programs in NYS, other nearby states, and also abroad in Northern Europe. Upon trying to narrow down options for a PhD in Linguistics in the United Kingdom, I found it extremely hard as there seem to be a lot of British universities that offer such a program.

I am a native English speaker, and I have conversational fluency in Spanish. I have taken an interest primarily in sociolinguistics, usually in a political or forensic context. I actually completed a thesis in my UG where I discussed how thematic roles present themselves across party lines in both American and British politics, where I used linguistic data from speeches by both American and British politicians. I would love to continue research within that vein of connecting language with political expression and identity. I also come from a lower class background, so I would prefer a university that offers a livable stipend or decent scholarships to international students. I am also interested in hearing about any online linguistics PhD courses at a UK university and/or part-time programs that could be completed while working in a primary/secondary school. I earned a 3.97 GPA in my undergrad and currently have a 4.0 GPA in my Master's, but I am not sure if my academic performance is good enough for acceptance into a prestigious school like Oxford or Cambridge.

I apologize in advance if this seems like a lot of information in one post, or if my assumptions about U.K. universities come off as ignorant (I have no prior experience with the British university system as an American student). Thank you in advance for your help!
