Best way to avoid ticks for pup out on trails?

Lone star ticks are in the area now. Don't want him getting bitten, nor do I want him bringing lone stars into the car or house. Alpha-Gal syndrome is no joke, red meat is one of the simplest pleasures of life haha.

My heeler and I love to hike, so I'm asking the experts- how do you guys go about keeping ticks off them beyond just the preventative chewables? Tell me your tips and tricks.

Can anyone explain where to look for this bridge? DS Tactile mod

Not sure if this is the right place to ask or if there is a dedicated modding sub. Paid someone to install tactile buttons on the Lite bc I hate working on the Lite, buttons were wonky acted like the swtiches got something wet in them. Went to uninstall the face buttons (separate from troubleshooting the switches on the d pad) Just because they were too tight and ended up accidentally busting the power switch putting the shell back on.

Replaced power switch with a donor switch but clearly didn't seat it right, because its finicky on if it likes to turn on and I kind of have to hold it in the middle to send the signal and hold it a little too long up top to turn it back off. Sometimes it flicks back on trying to do that. So, I need to go reseat that- but I mention it because of this;

I notice that the wonky movement inputs are actually directly from putting pressure on the start/select area, and even lightly pressing start turns my character to the left. The character insisting on going left with no input was likely because it was reading input around start/select- maybe due to shell tightness.

Where in the world is this happening on the board- what got bridged? Id like to fix it when I reseat the power switch but don't really want to bugger anything up. I hate working on DS lites. Im a GBA person, myself.

EDIT: It only happens sometimes, as well. Not consistent. Severity inconsistent as well.
