I am tandem reading/listening to the new Dungeon Crawler Carl book, and I noticed that the narrator will occasionally skip ”I said,” “she said” phrases when it is clear who is speaking.
Can Jeff do this because he is the God of Narration, or is this standard practice? I have always heard that word-perfect is the standard, but wonder if there is ever room to skip these phrases when it is intrusive.
