2015 WRX STI

Picked up a modded 2015 STI and was curious what others in this situation usually do maintenance wise right off the bat and getting to “Know” what the previous owner put under the hood, etc. Are there certain things to look for that you would question part wise? How to tell if it is in good condition? Or do you replace parts to feel safe knowing that YOU were the one that did these mods? I’m loving the car even though I’ve had a couple hiccups the past 2 months. I just don’t know where to start.

Friday Night Show Off

I’m in the need for inspiration and could sit and stare at my STI all day, But being a selfish bastard, I would like to stare at your cars… I would love to see Body Mods, Interior Pics, Engine Bays, Stereos (This one for sure), Custom little things you’ve done to make it truly unique and YOURS… Can you guys help me out and show your pride and joys off? TIA

Love this community too BTW

Searched the archives and couldn’t find a post like mine… No stereo or dome light.

Long story short, Boot blew off intercooler and the dealership fixed that. The battery died and needs replaced but they put a charger on it to get it started to fix it. I got it back and no longer have a working stereo head unit and dome lights. I already checked all the fuses and replaced one that was blown but it had nothing to do with either of the issues. I know the stereos are notorious for being pieces of shit and I will upgrade that but I’m curious as to why I have no dome lights. I wouldn’t be surprised if they hooked the cables to the battery up backwards and then realized what they’d done but I’m just assuming. Do you guys have any ideas? 2015 STI

First Time Owning A STI

I’m a proud new owner of a 2015 STI. I bought it from the dealer about 2 weeks ago. Have had fun driving it. I was merging in to the freeway and a semi was not getting over even though I was ahead of him but on the on ramp. So I could clearly see he wasn’t getting over. I should have just slowed down and let him continue in that lane but didn’t. As a result, I punched it and it felt like normal until the steering wheel locked up and the engine died. I have no fluids leaking. The car idles rough below x1000 RPMs but when I put it in gear it dies. I did notice some smoke coming out of the exhaust after trying to start it and keep it running for a little bit. So I shut it off and called a tow truck. The Cruise Control Icon was blinking, ABS Icon was on, the “S” for sport mode was flashing in the dash as well as what appears to be a car on a ramp and then the icon of a car with wavy lines behind it. It had the same icons the day before but ran fine. I hooked up the Accessport and checked for codes and the only thing it said was “System Too Rich”.

Dealership hasn’t called me cuz I had it towed there. Dealership hasn’t looked at it and it happened 4 days ago. They say they will look at it later today. Has anybody here had that happen to them (car dying with all those icons showing on the dash? I’m sick and just want my car back.

I apologize for the long post, I’m just worried.
