possible re-home, in distress and unknowing of what to do..

I just made a post a few days ago because my three males (to my knowledge) were doing so well. I had one bonded pair and placed my newest piggie in his own enclosure that was within distance and view of the bonded pair. all was well, so i thought.

I left out for the evening (my mother was home and would check the piggies occasionally) and all was well. i changed the linen, spot cleaned, gave extra hay and some of their favorite treats.

my mom gave biscuit (one of my piggies and her favorite) extra cuddles this morning and there was nothing out of the sorts.

I got home midday and went to pick up biscuit to give him his cuddles and i noticed he was on the opposite side of the enclosure which was weird because him and Peanut Butter are usually around each other. After picking him up, I noticed the injury immediately! it was fresh, like it just recently happened 30 or so minutes ago as it was still bleeding. his ear is split down the middle. i wanted to cry. i have no idea why peanut butter lashed out so aggressively at biscuit, especially since ginger is in his separate enclosure. i can no longer keep peanut butter and biscuit together, this is a huge injury and im sure biscuit is traumatized! i already called an emergency vet clinic and me and my boyfriend are on our way to take him there now.

I can not stop crying, biscuit is so tiny and as much as i love Peanut Butter, I have to do what’s best for all my piggies. I do not have enough space to make ANOTHER separate enclosure. i can divide the current one i already have but i can’t make another seperate one. i dont have the living space for that.

My mom and boyfriend said not to go off of emotion and immediately surrender peanut butter, but i am just sad and confused and i dont know what to do. i will see what the vet says but i am hoping some from the reddit community can give me advice on how to proceed.

(i did clean biscuits ear with a wet cloth to stop the bleeding and applied wound care before we left for the em-vet. I fed him his veggies and because it’s hot, i have ice water in a bottle to give him as well.)

pictures of the injury and biscuit will be posted.

UPDATE: vet said that because the tear is deep, i have one of two options; a suture (but the cost will creep up especially since he needs anesthesia) OR daily pain medication and antibiotics to prevent infection with twice a day cleaning but his ear will be split and will most likely not heal back. more to come soon!

my three handsome boys! (Peanut Butter, Biscuit, & Ginger)

my three handsome boys! there was a bit of growing pains since they are all boars, but with advice, research, and a little hope, we are all a happy family. (did not realize until a week after getting Ginger that he could not see very well. it’s an adjustment, but i wouldn’t change a thing!)

advice on introducing my new boar to an already bonded pair (also boars)

i already have a bonded pair (both boars) and recently bought a new one, i tried to introduce the pair separately to his brother but i think that resulted in breaking the already established pair. what should i do? i do not live by myself and was told that i can only have three and not four due to the severity of their allergies. i intend to get another to make two pairs when i move. i just need some advice.

Need advice for my piggies..

i came to check on my piggies this morning (spent the night out ) and i noticed one of my babies has a small wound underneath his nose. he’s being really skittish and hiding from his brother, but when i laid the veggies this morning, they both seemed fine, eating near each other. the wound has not drawn blood, just a small amount of pink meet showing. i dabbed it with wound wash (small pet safe) and he’s running around the cage now, but still wont go to the other side of the enclosure near his brother. i have had to separate and rebond them once before, but that was when they were in a smaller enclosure. this new one is twice the size but doesn’t offer the capacity to separate if i need to. what should i do? i’m at a lost for words and i hope they aren’t fighting again..
