4-5 Days in Yucatan, Mexico
My dad (67), my sisters (44 & 46), and myself (42) are planning a trip to Yucatan Pennisula, Mexico for Nov 18-24 (2 days for travel, 4-5 for actual vacation). I have done some preliminary research, but wanted reddit's perspective on where to go.
Flight To/From: Cancun, Mexico (Merida Airport would cause a stop somewhere)
Focus: Mayan ruins, Mexican authentic culture.
Dislikes: Resorts, beaches, heavily touristy locations
Places I found: Merida, Uxmal, Coba, TONS of Cenotes, Chocolate Museums
If we pick one place to stay the whole time, where would you recommend?
Would you recommend road trip travel? Ex: Stay in Merida, Uxmal, and Coba a night each.
If we only have time for 1 or 2 ruins, which is a must see!
Cenotes - There are SO many! How do I narrow it down? We're not big into swimming, but it sounds like it should be part of the experience.
Chocolate - I want to experience. What do you recommend?
Should we get a car? What is the best way to travel between cities?
Thank you for your help. There are so many choices it's overwhelming us. I really do appreciate your advice.
