Definitely missed the boat on Whittaker's gumdrop

I was out of the country when it launched and by the time I got home it seems to all have been snapped up. Has anyone seen any blocks for sale recently? I figure my best hope will be some random dairy way out the back of nowhere who hasn't sold out yet.

Does anyone know if there's going to be another batch?

Front door replacement, installation and purchase

In the last few "one in 100 year events" we've had this year, my front door seems to now swell with constant rain, so I've figured I should speed up what was my eventual plans to replace it.

Does anyone have any good recommendations for where to buy and also install it? I want something pretty basic that should be easy to source, but any idea of how much this would cost? I thought it would be a matter of just buying a door from Mitre 10 or Bunnings, I'm pretty handy, but I think there might be more to it than attaching it to hinges and screwing it into the door frame...

Any advice is welcome; Places to buy, places to install, places or things to avoid, recommendations. I'm going in completely green here.

Another Stepmom signing off

I've found myself on this sub less and less over the last year or so after being pretty active before. There's been some changes to our little step-family.

SDs are in their 20s now, both out of the house and grown. Sadly, just as SD#2 flew the nest and was starting her adult life, DH was diagnosed with cancer and passed away 18 months later.

It has absolutely devastated all three of us but also brought us so much closer together. DH left me in charge of his (previously unknown) sizeable estate which will eventually go to the girls, and we are using it to set the foundation for good, constructive lives for us all. I know the girls have seen the effort I've put in protecting them and their futures (HCBM, anyone...?) their Dad would be so proud of them. We're all in contact more than we ever have been. Unlike the usual way a stepparent goes from step to being a bio parent, I'm pretty sure I've got two kids now through inheritance. :-)

This sub got me through some pretty hard times, confusing times and gave good advice when I needed it. I miss some of the sage contributors I used to look for their comments on some posts. Maybe I'll be back if it all goes pear shaped, or acquire some more SKs, hopefully mine will give a good reference! Sometimes the step-parenting role doesn't end the way you expect, but good or bad, it sure isn't for the faint-hearted!
