Which backdrop brands actually look good in photos and not like a school play?

I swear buying portrait photography backdrops online feels like online dating. The photos look incredible, then the package arrives and suddenly your “luxury Paris café background” looks like somebody printed it at a cyber café in 2009

I’ve been trying to find brands that actually have good themed backdrops without making my portraits look like low-budget music videos. So far I keep seeing names like Kate Backdrop, Savage Universal, Neewer, and Allenjoy. Kate especially seems to have EVERYTHING — castles, Christmas scenes, fake kitchens, flowers, libraries, clouds… probably even a backdrop of your landlord asking for rent.

I also noticed a lot of sellers seem to source similar designs from manufacturers on alibaba. Not promoting it or anything, I just fell into a 2 a.m. scrolling rabbit hole and suddenly I was looking at “Royal Palace Fantasy Backdrop 10x20 HD Wrinkle Free” like I’m directing a Netflix series from my bedroom.

My biggest problem is wrinkles and fake-looking prints. Nothing humbles you faster than spending one hour setting up lights just for the backdrop to look like a giant shower curtain in the final photo

So photographers here, which brands are actually worth the money? And which ones betrayed you the moment you opened the package?

Where are people finding discounted heavy-duty rubber recycling machinery?

I’ve been trying to find heavy-duty rubber recycling machinery for a small project we’re planning, but the prices are honestly all over the place. Some suppliers quote crazy expensive numbers while others claim they have “factory discounts” that almost sound too good to be true.

I checked Alibaba and saw a lot of rubber shredders, tire recycling lines, and granulators being sold at what looked like discounted prices, especially from newer suppliers or companies clearing older stock. But I’m not sure if those deals are actually worth it after shipping and setup costs.

I’ve also seen people mention industrial auctions, trade expos, and refurbished equipment dealers, but I don’t know which places are actually trusted. Some Reddit threads made it sound like buying directly from overseas can either save you a lot of money or become a complete headache if parts fail later.

So where are you guys finding legit discounts on heavy-duty rubber recycling machines? Are there specific websites, suppliers, or countries that usually have better prices?

Where do people actually buy party supplies and photo booth props in bulk without overpaying?

Which stores actually give decent bulk discounts on festive and party supplies like photo booth props? I keep trying to figure out if there are “real” wholesale options or if everything just gets marked up once it’s called party supplies. I’ve seen some suppliers online where photo booth props are sold in sets or by MOQ like 10–100 packs and the price drops a lot per piece when you go bigger. But I’m nt sure if those are actually the best deals or just standard listings pretending to be wholesale. Places like alibaba come up a lot when I search, especially for bulk props and themed sets, but I’ve never ordered from there so I’m nt sure how consistent the quality is or if it’s only worth it for large quantities. Outside of that, are there actual stores or wholesalers local or online that people use for events, weddings, or party rental setups? Like somewhere you can reliably get balloons, banners, and photo booth props in bulk without paying retail prices? Would be good to hear from anyone who’s actually done event setups or reselling where do you usually source your stuff and what’s been worth it vs not worth it?

I’ve been looking into different outdoor flooring options lately, and sintered stone keeps showing up as a high-end choice. That made me curious about what people actually go with in real installations.

Are there any other materials that perform well outdoors when exposed to constant sun, rain, and general wear? I’ve come across a wide mix of options online, and even when looking through listings including platforms like Alibaba, it’s still hard to tell which materials are genuinely tested in outdoor conditions versus just presented well in product photos.

For anyone who has worked on outdoor flooring projects, what materials have you found to be the most reliable long-term and what would you probably avoid if doing it again?
