I need help getting back to a normal sleep schedule

I have about a week (maybe more, but I’d like to be on a better pattern by then) to get back into a more regular sleep schedule. I currently climb into bed around midnight, can’t fall asleep until about 3 or 4am, and today I turned off my 10am and 11am alarms and slept until 1pm. I know this is bad habit and I’m trying to fix it. Previously I was sleeping until well into the afternoon…3 or 4 or 5pm.

What are some tips, tricks or brutal truths I need to hear to get back to sleeping around 11pm to maybe 7 or 8am.

To answer any questions ahead of time I was unemployed and extremely depressed, and drinking a lot and frequently. I have a job that’s starting soon, and I am alcohol free for about a week now. But old habits die hard, I can’t sleep when I want to
