What's the Current Vibe about Modern? Good, Bad, ... Meh?

Haven't played in about 2-3 years so definitely a bit out of the loop. I was looking at the meta game on Goldfish

Maybe I'm looking at it wrong but it seems like it's mostly Combo, Soft Combo, and Hyper Aggro. I feel like it's a little unhealthy when things like Burn and Control can't compete. I've been thinking about getting out of Modern but maybe my take on things is bad. It could be more nuanced so I would like to hear what the consensus is from people currently in the trenches.

Did Togashi make Gon Lose his Nen so he Could Re-Invent his Ability?

Sorry if this has already been discussed to death but I wonder if part of the reason Gon lost his Nen was so that Togashi could come up with something more interesting than Ja Jan Ken. It was an interesting idea don't get me wrong but it mostly boiled down to how much could Gon juice up Rock as seen during the latter half of Chimera Ant arc.

I wonder if him getting back in touch with his roots and growing up a bit will allow him to come up with a different more mature Nen ability. Maybe something having a bit more to do with Fishing would be neat I think.

Is it Actually Impossible to Become a Billionaire without Serious Explotation?

I haven't deeply researched it but the one that I think could be alright is Warren Buffett but I don't know maybe he has some deep dirt?
