I currently have an extension spring garage door. The door and parts are ancient so we need to do a full replacement, but I have 4 different garage door contractors give 4 different opinions on what to do.

They are not able to put a torsion spring at the front of the garage (directly above the door opening) because it is open-air. The four recommendations are:

A. Attach the torsion spring/rod to the roof facade beam, which is 2 feet from the garage door opening.

B. Place the torsion spring/rod at the rear of the track (which is kind of in the middle of the garage so we would no longer be able to hang our bikes. We don't love this idea).

C. Place the torsion spring rod, on the rear wall, which is 5 feet from the end of the track.

D. Put another extension spring system in.

What would you do?
