Sneak king appreciation post

I do not understand why people shit on Yuta for being a sneaky lanky weirdo when that's arguably one of the best and most fun things about his character. One of the main reasons for why I like JJK fights is how dirty everyone is. Sneaking, jumping, cheapshotting, nothing is off limits and that's what makes it so cool.

I do not understand how there is a back and forth on the og scouts' position regarding who they'd support post-timeskip when we have this.

I love that Levi got 0 satisfaction from killing Zeke

Unfortunately a lot of anime onlies missed this detail and still cheered for Levi getting his revenge, but I still adore how hollow Levi's victory is here. Sure, he fulfilled his promise and got his revenge, but said revenge won't bring all his loved ones back, and the man he took revenge on has repented and accepted his end, sacrificing his life to help Levi and his comrades. Such a brilliant ending to Zeke's character and their feud.

I know it's been a couple of years since we've got this piece of information, but it still feels unreal to me.

I did use to wonder if the wall titans were transformed humans, but since we got nothing on that in the manga, I just assumed they were puppets constructed by the founder and that was that. This was quite the shock when I first saw it lol

Eren's empathy

One part of Eren's character I see seldom discussed is his surprising emotional intelligence. People are always talking about his monstrous tendencies and how he remained a tantruming child at his core until the end, but few people talk about how he actually grew and matured despite it meaning little in the end.

Hobo Eren, his talk with Reiner before Willy's declaration specifically is such an interesting outlier compared to all the scenes we get from him later; he's so calm, measured and understanding. He picks up on Falco's crush almost instantly, he treats Reiner with such a strange level of respect and understanding that(to me at least) reads as completely genuine; he just feels completely different to how he acts later in the series.

It's agreed upon that the most true to himself Eren has been is in his paths conversation with Armin, and while I agree, I do think the fact that he was already through with starting the rumbling and affected by the founding powers heavily colored his disposition; but I think the way Eren acted with Reiner is also a peek at the ideal he could've become. Eren truly understood that the war he was waging was cruel and pointless, he knew that most of the people he was about to kill did not deserve it, he understood all that, and he was able to show compassion to his enemy because of that understanding, it just happened to be that his desire for his ideal world and to protect his friends took precedent over the wisdom and empathy that he gained.

I don't agree with the interpretation that what Eren did was right or noble in any way, and he himself said that he's a run of the mill idiot which is why things turned out as they did, but I really do think he grew to become a more thoughtful, empathetic person through the series, even if those qualities took a backseat to his own selfish and warped desires. These contradictions and missed potential are what really makes Eren so compelling for me.
