Ability to see where said muscular load/strain/depletion came from

Whilst you can see in a workout summary which muscles were worked and by how much, its quite hard to do the other way around. Today my muscle chart said my lower back was 'depleted' at 23% yet I spent a very long time looking for the exercises that got it that low and in the end had to ask the AI - could it be a feature so that you could just click into each muscle group or the load part to see which exercises contributed to the score?

muscle recovery

I just saw muscle recovery added to 'planned soon' on the feedback board.

My 2 cents would be some sort of clarity on what specific recovery/strain is happening, whether that is:

- segmented muscle recovery (different muscles recovering at different rates)

- cardio recovery

- maybe central nervous system recovery?

And of course their associated strain counterparts.

Perhaps using this as an opportunity to sort these different types of recovery/strain into an organised place where everything can be viewed at once? I like the idea of finishing a workout, seeing which muscles have been worked sufficiently, which ones maybe overworked and how long they will take to recover. Additionally some clarification compared to the strain on the heart and even the strain on the nervous system since it is quite confusing on what's what, yet each system has dramatically different impacts on my body when recovered/not recovered.

Further to this, instead of just having basic: recovered/not recovered, what about some sort of muscular load graph(like cardio load), where bevel can track your muscle strength improvement, whether or not you are overtraining or productive etc - the heart is a muscle so why not the muscular equivalent?

And perhaps the recovery of certain muscles could be included in the recovery tab so you have a nice overview of how recovered your body is doing and what you should avoid?

All just suggestions based on what I'd find useful but im sure the bevel team will be cooking up something great anyways

Faster loading times on new update

I'm not sure if it is intentional but bevel seems to load alot quicker for me on the new Bevel update and on the watch - if its intentional thanks as it does feel snappier

1 year + data viewing?

Could there be an option to see longer than a yearly view of data as there are several lifestyle changes that happen over longer period than a year

HRR too generous?

Anyone else feel like the HRR says almost every workout’s recovery hr is always excellent or superior? I’ve gotten maybe 5-10 people on the app and that’s the one common thing everyone always seems to say is really good for them. My HRR can range from 40-120bpm with even the 40 being considered excellent. Is this an error where the app is assuming it’s a 1 minute recovery time when it actually measures a 2 minute recovery time?

Large model updates

I saw the moderators say on this sub that incremental bug fixes and improvements for Bevel AI gets rolled out over the air, throughout the week. When (and if) there is a more substantial model upgrade, would it be included in the update notes?

Non strength trainer exercises to be inputted into muscular load

https://preview.redd.it/5jpfvopeqv9h1.png?width=1179&format=png&auto=webp&s=ffe02bb3ce76859be9e3745b7719aa5c559f972d

Here athlytic has put all these walks as lower body/core, which is a good idea. I do sprinting and that is very very lower body intensive, yet it will take up no space on the muscular load diagram.

So could there be some weighting of how intense each exercise is on not just the cardio load but the muscular load, and thus the corresponding muscle groups?

One arm specific exercise requests for strength trainer

For one arm exercises, could we get the possibility to have the rest timers happen after both arms have been done? For one arm bent over dumbbell rows, there are always short rests between each single arm exercise as I'm just switching arm, and then longer ones for the actual rest.

For supersets and circuits, could they only trigger the next exercise after both arms have been done?

Some ability to see which arm you are using (maybe a left (L) or right hand (R) symbol so I can see that the last time it was my left arm that could only lift x amount, or to keep track of injuries that are only effecting one arms/legs).

This would be very useful for single arm bent over dumbbell rows, one arm lateral raises (I use the other hand to check for upper trap activation). I've noticed some moderators asking people what could be useful for Strength trainer, and other than for more frictionless data exploration, and a more in depth progression, this would definitely be up there as I do quite alot of one arm exercises.

We need some way log/edit supplements !

Recently just came across this video which exposes this very popular UK supplement brand Nutrition Geeks (which I've used every day for a multiple years) for not living up to their advertised label.

https://youtu.be/Uio3fWVUz-4?si=wZ4DeYYz-O5nOGYI

If there was some sort of supplement logging section/editor/tracker, then I'd be able to prescribe different supplements i've logged to their corresponding brands, and then hopefully mass edit the brand's supplement dosage which I've got probably 1000s of entries for (which are now all wrong!) and decrease it to the real, tested value...

Also, in general having a place to log supplements would be useful anyway, as apple health does not directly support every type of micronutrient - such as differentiating between vitamin K1 and K2, or the different magnesium types, and thus which supplements are taken in combination with others in multivitamins etc.

Thanks!

( I've noticed this is on the feedback board, but only 'Planned - TBD' - https://feedback.bevel.health/feature-requests/p/supplement-vitamin-tracking )

Opt in to have data stored in the cloud to solve loading time issues?

Hi there, I think this post will be a bit unpopular - but I am not too bothered with the idea of allowing bevel to store all of my health data on their own servers if it means I can load 5+ years of data instantaneously and be able to open the app with everything already loaded and synced. Would this ever be an option?
Of course if there were some privacy and security documents to ensure no data is sold on to anyone, and as a longtime bevel pro member i wouldn’t mind the option?

Could Bevel Intelligence give tips on form? (Using accelerometer)

Could there be a small option to communicate with BI within the workout view?
Sometimes I'm not sure how to finish the workout:
- It could be useful to have a small bubble option to ask BI what I should do next (taking up as little space as possible - maybe the personality floats in the corner)
- Give advice on things I might be overdoing or not doing right, how much stretching needed etc
- In the future it could also comment on form if it had access to accelerometer data. It would save leaving the workout view to see the advice it gave me pre workout in the main section…

Start new chat vs continue old chat idea

Would it be possible for one area to continue an existing chat and maybe another to create a new one? Just an idea

Bevel’s support is growing even into the tech Youtuber space

Been seeing many more youtube videos pop up on my feed that involve comparing health trackers to an apple watch + bevel, and 9/10 times they choose bevel. So glad the app is getting the traction it deserves now. With more support there’s more money and then a better app for me 🙏

Differentiate Premium food logging from the Free food logging in quick add section (lean into ai personalities being premium/BI v2)

Rough idea, but maybe to differentiate the pro food logging from the free food logging in the quick add section - NOT THE CHAT, maybe just add the AI personality bubble floating there as a sign you are using the premium version? Obviously crap demonstration, but something like this could solve the current disparity between the logging areas in the app? (As currently the free users have the easier way of adding food)

- Where energy bank technically drops below 0 using borrowed energy.

- Its often the case where it feels like im running low on energy and maybe Bevel’s energy bank supports this, but I am able to push through and keep going. On Bevel, as you get closer to 0% , the energy bank decreases at a decreasing rate and tends to 0 (it never reaches it), which is not physiologically accurate - you don’t disproportionately decrease your energy expenditure by resuming the same activities just because you are tired, if anything energy is used less efficiently - less efficient anaerobic dominance, neuromuscular fatigue, poor form - as you are more tired - running 10k while tired would drain you the same if not more than if you were energised.

- Example: I was very tired one evening, energy bank was low (around 11%) - however I was able to hike all night up a volcano and stay awake all of the following day, but I didn’t collapse or anything (i.e, what the language of 0% energy bank/body battery implies), and my body battery was at 1% for the majority of the 36 hours.

- So either, 1. we find out when your body is able to run off of adrenaline or whatever the biological explanation there is for it to keep going (which I doubt your apple watch can do - and body battery in itself is not a verified scientific concept), or 2. we use an idea like borrowed energy - energy usage below 0%, which will then subtract from future energy banks, or have an accurate biological collateral impact on future energy banks (find some biological proof) which is more realistic, as then your body has to do extra catch up on reenergising you - its a pointer to the user that you are now draining your body’s energy in an unsustainable and costly way.

- Other apps like Peakwatch give much more generous body batteries, but it always feels inaccurate in day to day life because it would say I end the day on 50% battery despite feeling tired, and that I would always be charged to 99-100% the next day regardless of how unrestful the sleep is

- Further integration: If Bevel ever releases it’s own cardio tracker, there could be a notification or visual on the tracker when it suspects you are starting to run on fumes (borrowed energy)

- Im guessing this would be hard to implement as a whole due to the idea that the energy bank does not accurately mirror one’s energy, and the line at which you cross into borrowed energy wouldn’t be a line but rather a decrease over time in energy efficiency (however borrowed energy would be an easy way to present it - perhaps the energy usage in this zone increases at some increasing rate, or give some sort of recovery/energy debt) - overall quite messy biology to put a number to. However, generally the idea of using your energy more destructively and unsustainably is certainly a thing that effects us, and any way of this being visualised could be useful without overcomplicating things of course.

I had a 3hr sleep last night and feel absolutely awful. However my HRV and HR were fine so now I have a 55% recovery score. I've had 50% scores before and this feels like 5%...
Or technically am I physiologically 55% recovered but just can't feel it?

Ive been loving playing around with this new update and it has been already useful at identifying trends and patterns i couldnt find before - loving especially the health docs part as i’ve just uploaded every single one i’ve had and Bevel sorted and dated them quickly.

However, just for the future - i’ve noticed the reliance on AI instead of independent features… whilst the design is amazing, and im aware AI can do basically everything these days - it can never a substitute for a nicely designed, stable concrete feature (like the Bio Age for example). I’m only wondering this because there were features in progress on the feedback board, that could have been nicer as concrete blocs in the app - like illness, food discomfort or symptom trackers (which could have been good future opportunities to flesh out the journal section and functionality), or even race time predicitions that have now been marked as completed where it feels like i could have handed my data to chatgpt to do the same (even tho this is much more integrated and nicely designed).

Like even recovery time estimation.. you could technically just mark that as complete too because the AI can do it, but it just wouldnt be as good as seeing it on the workout summary screen for instance in a nicely integrated way that ties in with everything in the app like the rest of the app is so good at.

Im just worried that in the end this just becomes an AI health app, like chatgpt with health integrations…

All in all amazing update and I was thrilled to see it when it came through on my end, I spent hours trialling out everything new, and might just get a blood test just for the sake of this damn app😭
