May Battalion Board Results?

I had my BN board on April 17, and the deadline for them to submit the results to the federal USAREC board was last Friday, May 8. My recruiter said that he hasn’t heard received any BN board results earlier this week.

Has anyone who’s in the June USAREC board process right now heard anything about their battalion board results? The BN board recommended me and told me so during the meeting, but I’d be interested in seeing the scores and any other details on that. I also hope that my packet didn’t get lost at any point of this whole process..

Edit: the title should say “April” not “May” for the BN board

Clearance Travel w/RUS citizen

I’m in the OCS process as a civilian and hoping to enlist in June. Before leaving for basic training later in the summer/early fall, I want to see my best friend and his wife in Central Asia and travel around a bit with them.

I wonder if this could present some insurmountable challenges with getting my security clearance approved later during basic and OCS.

I’ve already gotten the tickets and squared it away with my recruiter, so everything should be ok on that front, however, my friend is a dual Russian and Ukrainian citizen and his wife is a Kazakhstani citizen. We’ll be going to Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and maybe Kazakhstan.

I’m thinking of living separately from them - they’re a family now and we’ll be together for about 5 weeks. Cohabiting with a foreign national of an adversarial state might also not be a great idea.

Do y’all have any advice on how best to handle this situation? He’s my best friend and I’ll probably not see him for at least a couple of years while I’m learning the ropes in the Army.

I myself am a dual U.S. and Ukrainian citizen born in Ukraine. I had interim Secret clearance at State Department as a contractor, but the investigation never completed in the 9 months that I’ve worked there. I listed my friend as one of my foreign contacts. I have an otherwise extensive travel history, but I don’t have anything to hide. I’ve seen much worse cases than me get TS and TS/SCI’s at State, and what I’ve learned is that it’s mostly about disclosing all the details and being candid with the investigator.

BOLC after OCS Active timeline

I’ll likely be shipping out for BCT late in the summer and leaving my car and civilian clothes and such behind in storage where I live now (Washington DC).

I’m just trying to plan out if I’ll have time to pick up my car and things (including furniture) for BOLC after OCS, or if I’ll have to wait till my first duty station assignment to figure that out.

I understand that for most BOLCs, people live in long-term hotel rentals or something like that, so I wouldn’t need to get any furniture for that.

If anyone went through that process recently or has any advice, I’d appreciate it!

Active duty/Reserve orders rent concession question

I will hopefully receive active duty or reserve orders as an OCS candidate in June. I’ve read that I’ll be able to break my apartment lease without incurring any penalties and I’ll just be responsible for the next month’s rent. However, a couple of months ago, my landlord asked me to sign a paper stating that I’ll have to repay any concessions (aka first month’s rent that was an incentive to sign the lease) if I break the lease early. Have any of you encountered this issue? Does SCRA still apply in this case?
