How does +17 / -24 make any sense when I’m actually winning?

I’m genuinely trying to understand how this ranked system is supposed to make sense.

Riot ID is LIMITLESS#NTZ48 (NA) if anyone wants to look at the account themselves.

I’m currently Emerald 1, 18 LP, 330W / 309L.

I recently went on a 7 game win streak and instead of my LP gains getting better, I was getting around +17/+18 for wins, and my last loss was -24.
I was E2 83 LP, won and got +18 which promoted me to E1 1 LP. Won again and got +17, putting me at E1 18.

So right now one loss basically deletes almost a win and a half.

With +17 / -24 you need around a 59% win rate just to break even. Even going 6-4 over 10 games would give you basically nothing.

And before someone says “your MMR is way below your rank”, I don’t really understand that explanation either. My games aren’t full of Plat players. I’m playing with Emerald 1, 2, 3, etc. Sometimes there’s an E4 or P1 mixed in, but the lobby is clearly Emerald.

Also, if I keep winning, both my visual rank AND my MMR supposedly go up. People always say “just keep winning and your MMR will catch up”, but how do we actually know the MMR is catching up faster when Riot doesn’t even show it or explain exactly how it works?

Because from what I can actually see, I keep winning, my rank goes up, and my LP gains are still garbage.

It honestly feels like the system is basically saying:
“We don’t think you should be Diamond, so you need to maintain a 60%+ win rate to prove us wrong.”

I’m not saying I deserve Diamond for free. If I lose more than I win, obviously I should drop. But having a positive win rate and needing almost 60% just to not lose LP seems insane.

Am I missing something here?

Has anyone actually had +17 / -24 improve while continuing to climb, and if so how many games did it take?
