Hood Open or Closed?

Other than taking the occasional photo for Reddit- do you grill on the Searwood with the hood open or closed? I'm not talking about smoking- this is about grilling. With my prior propane BBQ I always grilled with the hood opened, except for getting the time needed to get some smoke going. Does the grilling still work on the Searwood w/ the hood open?

Temperature settings for the upper rack

I did a small pork shoulder recently. I set the temp at 240 deg. However, when I checked the temp w a probe on the upper rack it was barely over 200 deg. Have others seen this? Did you increase the temp to get more heat for the upper rack?

Carrier 59SC6A New Unit is loud with A/C

This is our first summer with the Carrier 59SC6A unit. Now we have the AC going and find the blower noise is quite loud inside the house, much louder than our previous old Trane unit. I understand that we can dial down the blower speed on this Carrier, but if it is set too low then condensation can occur on the coils. Looking for an opinion on how low can the blower be set and avoid condensation on the coils. The blower was lowered from the seating of 18 to 14-- can we go lower?

Current Plus low speeds

I have a 2 yr old Current Plus w about 800 miles odometer reading. This spring I’m having trouble getting over 20 mph. I’m spinning well above 80 rpm. Is there a need for belt tightening or tuneup? I rarely use assist above 3. Thoughts?

I'll be purchasing a Searwood soon and disposing of my propane grill. What is a good pellet flavor to use of general grilling (i.e. chicken, burgers, fish). When I smoke I typically use hickory or mesquite, but I think this will be too strong for general grilling. Thoughts?

My Carrier 59SC6A unit was recently installed. On the 3rd day of operation a loud gurgling noise started and then a few hours late an error code appeared in the pressure valvee/ shut off. The manual talks about the pitch of the out take PVC tube as it exits the foundation. Any thoughts on this? Is this common w new installation?
