Found this guy crawling on me. I don't think it bit me.

I really have no idea what happened. This morning I was doing a lot of cooking and at some point my finger had an “Ow!” moment. There was a slight mark on the underside and then it started to swell. I iced it on and off for about an hour.

I then went on with my day and spent a few hours mowing and doing other yard work.

Now my finger looks like this. It doesn’t hurt but I think it looks scary. Anyone have thoughts?

56f, no meds/drugs/alcohol. No medical history to speak of.

Hi All,

I just noticed this area on his face when I went to put his gentle leader on to go for a walk. We walked about this same time yesterday and his face wasn’t like this.

I’m wondering if anyone has anything similar happen and just looking for thoughts, advice, etc until the vet opens. At this point I don’t feel like it’s an emergency situation, he doesn’t seem to be in distress, but the area is tender as he yelped when I went to put his leader on.

We were out in the yard all day gardening prior to me noticing this, so I’m wondering if a bug could have bitten him? He also had an encounter with the neighbors dog - they barked and jumped at each other, but they were separated by a chain link fence. But perhaps he got scratched?

Again, just looking for any similar experiences that I could consider until the vet opens, which isn’t until Monday morning. I’m not looking for medical advice and I don’t think this is urgent.
