Toyota avalon 2014 Limited Hybrid 135k miles

I’m looking at a 2014 Toyota Avalon Limited Hybrid with 135,000 miles. The seller’s final price is $12,500.

I’ve already checked out the car and took it for a test drive. Overall, it’s in very good condition and I couldn’t find any major issues. It seems like it has been well taken care of.

A few details:

  • 2014 Avalon Limited Hybrid
  • 135k miles
  • Two-owner vehicle
  • Clean-looking interior/exterior
  • Good maintenance/service history
  • I checked the Carfax and the service records look good
  • One minor accident/damage reported on the Carfax
  • Test drive felt good and I didn’t notice any major mechanical issues
  • Seller is asking $12,500 final

My main question is whether $12,500 is a fair price for this car given the mileage and condition.

I’m also a little concerned about the hybrid battery. At 135k miles and being a 2014, I’m wondering how much longer I can realistically expect the original battery to last. I know Toyota hybrids generally have a good reputation for reliability, but I’d like to hear from people who actually own older Avalon/Camry/Prius hybrids.

How long have your Toyota hybrid batteries lasted? Is 135k miles something I should be worried about, or can these batteries reasonably go 200k+ miles?

Would you pay $12.5k for this particular car, assuming a pre-purchase inspection checks out? Or would you try to negotiate the price down because of the mileage and potential battery replacement?
