Paranoia on used books
So the title says it, sorry to scare. It’s my 1st time ordering from thrift book stores. I ordered these two from ThriftBooks Seattle , in ‘very good’ state. they seem to be in good condition. But I am a bit worried if there might be anything hiding. I read about freezing books but I unfortunately only have a refrigerator, and not a freezer. How can I make sure to check? The books were written in the 90s, but not sure when the books itself were being printed and sold. Not sure who could have used it before. There is a slight sweet damp odor to the pages of the red book, but it might be because pages haven’t been ventilated for some time? are there any other ways to cleanse ? I wiped the book with antibacterial wipes. Thank you guys🙏
Ps: I have some books from vintage stores in my library at worse conditions. Have never frozen them. For two years nothing happened so I guess it’s ok here as well. But now wondering.
