Fan concept for LDD characters--I call them The Screams!

I've had this idea for LDD characters for a while, and decided to finally draw them, tracing over real doll photos to get the bases. These are the Screams, inspired by 1960s Motown musical girl groups like the Supremes. Lucille Watkins literally sung her lungs out and would provide a new organ accessory to the pool, while Rhonda Day had the ability to make people genuinely lose their minds when she sang. Their costumes would be made of the same fabric type, while they have contrasting jewelry (necklace and earring) in different metal colors. I could have had both be screaming to fit the name better, but giving the two very different vibes felt like the best move for more interest as a duo--and I can't resist the sleeker, more modern sixties style and keeping Rhonda calm fit that look best.

LDD demonstrably has no interest in Black characters, so this is just one attempt to explore how they could have been successfully incorporated into a larger percentage of the cast.

I also have a few other unrelated design ideas I want to convert to this style and polish up too.

EDIT: Typo in Lucille's certificate. Second line should be "Her voice soared up and rung out".

My wonky little Resurrection Revenant!

I did not get the best possible copy of this doll because her eyes and lips were not symmetrical and she's a little harder to connect with than I wanted her to be, but she takes some beautiful photos regardless. Review is in this post here.

Daisy Slae is one of my all-time favorites.

I had one of my best photoshoots when I took this doll to the woods two summers ago. I didn't understand why she was so expensive at the time, but I certainly got my money's worth. Her review is here.

I've had this review idea since last year--making a roundup trio review into a party for Sadie's April 26 deathday. Today's the day! You can read the review of Sweet 16 Sadie, Deadbra Ann, and GreGORY, with individual doll photoshoots and deathday-party photo story, here.

These are based on designs I drew years ago, refined. My idea for a Res Isabel was to take her in more of a Venetian masquerade style with gold and purple and simple red blood designs against stark white. Like Res Tessa, these dolls would have disembodied glass eyes for the Res style, embedded in their accessory pieces. Main Isabel has an owl mask (an ironic choice because removing her eyes was unwise) which she could hold in a bent gripping arm or which could be pressed into her eye sockets like the Series 16 mask. It bothers me that S16 can either hold her mask stick or have the mask pressed in her face, but not both, so taking the stick away fixed that issue. Variant Isabel is designed as more of a haunted-house figure and looks older, and carries her eyes in a pair of lorgnette spectacles which give her eyebrows and lashes that her face doesn't have. She can carry the eyes on a stick because the best Res variant duos take different parts of the original design each, and using a stick like the S16 mask is more interesting than normal glasses.

Just thought I'd share a detail of the doll that's very hard to see without looking at her in-person. While her eyes look pure black in most views from a distance, she actually has dark brown irises and squashed black pupils with mirrored notches that make them look more like demonic goat eyes, fitting the Res character's shift to more of a demon than a vampire! The variant loses this eye design.

One of my favorite LDD character designs. I had the idea that as someone who brings the dead to the afterlife, she'd be very rarely seen by the living, and only show up in photographs as an anomaly hidden in the picture like a creepy ghost photo, so I had fun staging very indirect weird pictures which contain her hidden--see if you can find her in them all! Alison's full review is here.
