Gis and AutoCAD files

Hello there,

I'm a Planner who transitioned into GIS. Furthermore, a little background about myself is that I do have a degree in Planning but I also completed an intense GIS graduate certificate.

I wanted to know, how do you guys deal with AutoCAD files? Also, why don't they teach this in programs? But it also makes me question why don't these utility company engineers just learn it on their own instead of having someone else convert these stupid files all day?! Just why AutoCAD?!

Even some municipalities who heavily rely on their utilities require GIS analysts to use AutoCAD which I find very dumb. But please let me know.

Potential draft picks

Projected late first round (Where we have a pick):

  • Jayden Quaintance - Kentucky Wildcats (6’9 253 - checked draft combine):
    • He only played 4 games this past season but in 24-25 with Arizona State he averaged 9.4/8/1.5/1.1stls/2.6blks (24-25 Made all defense)
    • I don’t know how I feel about Jayden Quaintance because he had an ACL injury and played 4 games and only started 1 of those games. The previous season he was a beast. He has a 7’5.25 wingspan which is crazy.
    • Strength, mobility, rebounding, rim protection, and efficient finishing around the basket, while also showing flashes of ball-handling and defensive versatility uncommon for his size. Despite being one of the youngest players in his class, he projects as a high-upside defensive anchor and rim-runner with strong long-term potential if his offensive game and shooting continue to develop. His offensive skill set remains raw outside the paint, as he lacks a reliable jumper, polished self-creation ability, and consistent decision-making in half-court situations. Major injury concerns surrounding his torn ACL and meniscus.
  • Morez Johnson - Michigan Wolverines (6’9 250 - checked draft combine):
    • 13/7.3/1.2/1.1blks/0.7stls
    • (25-26 NCAA all tournament, 25-26 all big ten, 25-26 big ten all defense)
    • Very physical, strong, energetic, could score on the inside, switchable, but the offensive game is still run and needs a face up game. Being a consistent defensive player in the NBA is the question and is slightly undersized.

Projected mid-late second round (We do have a pick)

  • Felix Okpara - Tennessee Volunteers (6'11 220): 8/6.3/1.5 blk
    • (25-26 All defense)
    • He can protect the rim, good defender, lob threat, rim runner and rare athletic tools for his physique. Does almost everything but nothing too much or too little.

  • Ugonna Onyenso - Virginia Cavaliers (6'11 225): 6.5/5/3blks
    • (25-26 All defense)
    • Another guy that I enjoy watching. Amazing rim protector and very disciplined. He can run the floor, rebound, set hard screens and finish around the rim. His rebounding numbers can be misleading because Virginia has another great rebounder in the lineup. He can shoot as well for his size but Virginia does not really rely on him on that end. Downside is that he does not really have any post moves.
  • Trevon Brazile - Arkansas Razorbacks (6'9 215): 13/7.3/1.6/1.6/1.6
    • I love his game. Great energy guy. Shot blocking, rim running, lob threat, can shoot, defends 2-5 some PG’s and does a little bit of everything. Downside is that he’s not a great passer, not a great ball handler and not that consistent.

Undrafted (Both of these guys will most likely go undrafted, but I think Brad should try to sign one or both to our summer league roster, I just have a feeling that they will be great)

  • William Kyle III - Syracuse Orange (6'9 215): 8.4/7.1/1/1/2.5blks
    • (23-24 All summit, 23-24 all defense, 23-24 summit tournament mvp, 23-24 summit dpoy, 24 all summit tournament)
    • He has a 44 inch vertical, great shot blocker, rebounder, versatile defender, rim protector, he can score around the rim. Weakness is that he doesn’t have much offense, just scores around the rim, but crazy good defense.
  • Ernest Udeh Jr. - Miami Hurricanes (6’11 250): 6.7/9.2/1stl/1.4blks
    • (25-26 All defense)
    • A defensive anchor, lob threat and very physical. He has no offense.

Honorable Mentions

  • Flory Bidunga - Louisville Cardinals (6'9 220): 13.3/9/1.5/0.7stls/2.6blks
    • (25-26 All big 12, 25-26 all defense, 25-26 dpoy)
    • Intends to declare for the NBA draft while maintaining his college eligibility, he will most likely return.
  • Rueben Chinyelu - Florida Gators (6'11 245): 11/11/0.7/0.8/1blk
    • (25-26 Dpoy, 25-26 All defense and All SEC)
    • Same thing as Flory, he's gonna maintain his college eligibility and eventually go back just to get NIL $.
  • Keba Keita - BYU Cougars (6'7 230): 6/7/1stl/2blks
    • Undersized center, but the mf is strong af.
  • Nathan Bittle - Oregon Ducks (7'0 215): 16.8/7/2.6/1/1.8blks
    • (24-25 all big ten and 24-25 all defensive team)
    • He’s like a Walmart version of Myles Turner because he’s slow, he can really shoot, he can block shots but had a down year as compared to his previous one. Does not really do anything at a high level. I think he’s a G league player.

  • Tarris Reed Jr - UConn Huskies (6’10 260): 14.7/9/2.3/1stl/2blks
    • (25-26 NCAA All tournament, 25-26 NCAA All region, 25-26 All big east)
    • Projected to go early second. I’m a UConn fan, so I watched him a lot. He’s a great player, but players like him usually don’t translate to the NBA. I think he's an Ed Davis at best, a great rebounder and gets most of his buckets off of offensive rebounds, post up game is decent and average defense. So not bad but it's like a risk because you really don't think his game will translate to the NBA. Ed Davis is a rare player who lasted a long time in this era. At the end of the day, he would be a good backup big in the NBA.
  • Zuby Ejiofor - St. John’s Red Storm (6’7.5 245 - I checked draft combine): 16.3/7.3/3.5/1.2/2.1blks
    • (25-26 MVP, 25-26 Dpoy, 2x all big east, 25-26 POY, 25-26 NCAA All region)
    • A defensive beast. The problem is he’s undersized for a center in the NBA, he reminds me of Brandon Clarke. He’s 100% gonna get drafted just like Tarris.
  • Rafael Castro - George Washington Revolutionaries (6'10 215): 15.3/9/1.7/1.7/1.7
    • (2x All defense and 2x All A-10)
    • Very raw. He’s not that good and I think his numbers are misleading because he played in a bad conference. When he was in the Big East for his first 2 years, he was well below average. Has a lot of potential, but I’m not sure about his work ethic.
  • Izaiyah Nelson - South Florida Bulls (6’10 212): 16/9.6/1.2/1.6/1.4blks
    • (25-26 all american)
    • Good rim protector, great defender, active.

Really don't understand fans that want JB to get traded. I would never trade the Jays. I think they have one of the most wins as a duo in history for the last 50 years.

Jays era:

  • 2018: Lost to LeBron ECF game 7. Hayward got hurt first game was out for the season, Kyrie was hurt which was probably a good thing for the team since they were young, lost to one of the greatest to ever do it.
  • 2019: Lost to Milwaukee in 5 ECSF, Kyrie fks everything up.
  • 2020: Bubble season, lost to Miami in 6. Miami just outplayed us, I still remember the Bam block on JT game 1, had a bottom 5 bench which gave us not much of a chance.
  • 2021: JB was out, Kemba didn't play half of the series vs Nets, sort of a weird rebuilding season, had all sorts of players from young players trying to figure the NBA out to guys who been in the league for some time. Had god damn Romeo Langford and Evan Fournier starting. Lost in 5 vs KD nets first round.
  • 2022: Started the season off like absolute garbage, 12th seed in the east. Season started to turn around when it was a new year Jan 2022 and made the Dwhite trade around all star break. Team damn near went undefeated in the new year. We swept KD Nets, beat Giannis Bucks and Jimmy Heat both in 7. Lost to Steph Warriors in 6 - once we lost game 4 in the finals I sorta saw it coming.
  • 2023: Lost to Miami in 7 ECF. Joe's first season, team was down 3-0 and JT gets hurt first play of game 7 otherwise me and most people thought we were gonna win. Not tryna use an excuse but Joe is very stubborn and this was his first season we hated this mf not calling timeouts or he would make changes very late in series.
  • 2024: Champions
  • 2025: Knicks bitched us in round 2 it's just facts. We should not have lost those 2 leads both games 1 and 2 at home. JT got hurt game 4 out for the season. Jrue and Al were nowhere near the same. KP was just injured and useless. You can tell it was time for changes.
  • 2026: JT out for majority of the season. Still ended up second in the east. Was supposed to be a gap year. Lost first round against Philly, lost a huge lead game 5 at home to close out the series. Game 6 get blown out and Game 7 no JT but very weird starting lineup with a shit ton of missed wide open shots the whole game. We should have won this series, so playoffs was huge disappointment but regular season was the total opposite. Furthermore, we probably would have been the first seed if JT was healthy.

With considering all of that, I'm not sure why people want JB to get traded or dislike him. If you look at every year we never really been a trash team. Now I know some people will say "Oh but we only got 1 championship in those 8 years" winning 1 is hard af. Warriors, Heat and Lakers are the only teams to win back to back for the last 25 years, OKC can change that this season. My point is, in order for you to win you have to be lucky. From losing to LeBron to losing to Curry and having no bench another year and Joe's first season and then players getting old to JT injury, I'm personally not mad about any of our progress - NOT trying to use excuses because we still should have won some but as I said luck has to come as well. JB laid an egg in 2023 game 7 when JT got hurt and literally came back the next season won the ECF MVP and NBA FMVP and this season he's a top 5 MVP candidate. Like what else you want the man to do?! Some of you can never be happy.

"Trade JB" has never crossed my mind. If anything, we definitely need roster changes this off season including getting a big man and making some trades within the bench. Most importantly, I think we should get more veteran coaches. I think Sam Cassell will most likely getting a coaching job elsewhere plus the other guys are too young. Nonetheless, we are at a great position for the years to come. I honestly believe we will get at most 2 more championships out of this Jays era. JB is only 29 and JT is only 28. Tbh I'm optimistic for the seasons to come.
