How to get ahead, really need adivce

36 years old, 10 plus years in Japan, salary 270,000JPY yen per month, no savings, no debts, living costs around 120,000 / month. From the USA originally. Pension is a scam. How do I save for the future here? I'm thinking lately if my whole life was a waste, salaries have just not gone up but somehow everything else has, pension, I pay it every month but if I'm lucky I'll have payments of maybe 40,000JPY at this rate. What do people recommend to save for the future? How do people save? how do people move money? I feel so screwed when I think about my future out here, its honestly scary. Any advice for the money routines you are in would be helpful to me, thank you

Colonoscopy procedure in Tokyo?

I'm 36, my health check is scheduled in November, I have insurance through my company. Is this procedure covered usually by insurance? Is it something I can just request on the day of check up and schedule at a separate clinic or how does it work out here? I am from the states and usually you need to push for it or have a family history or have to wait until 40. FYI I want to just get it over with sooner than later for peace of mind

Dirt cheap apartments for rent 25,000-45,000

I'm looking to take a huge step back in my career and life in Japan. Though I stopped the bleeding last year, I'm going to be paying some back tax debts over the next 12-14 months, coupled with the fact that I also am only taking home 270,000 a month, can hardly save anything, like barely. I moved in with my GF this year and gave up my own apartment where I was paying about 100,000 a month before utilities, but also thinking of a plan B exit from everything and essentially going back to square 1. I am interesting in finding an apartment for absolute dirt cheap monthly rent, something like 25,000-45,000...no move in fees, whatever. I work remotely, but ideally in the tokyo area or chiba or saitama would be doable. I would only do this kind of short stay for about a year until I get my life back, anyone know any links to website listings I can find something this low? I dont care if its a dungeon brick wall, it's where I belong after all
