What is the point of 50+lbs support backpacks?

Im still new and im shopping for a "do it all/future proof/ buy once cry once" backpack and wanted to ask whats the point of 50, 60, 70 lbs support backpacks if a lot of backpack campers report only loading up to 25 to 35lbs on average for solo hike+camp trips for multiple days.

Any pointers on this?

Do people just buy these over sized backpacks and only load them halfway?

Still trying to get comfortable...do any of you switch carry positions.

Besides the rookie mindset of thinking a firearm is going to magically go off if handled constantly (while it's in the holster). Do any of you guys switch carry positions (when appropriate - aka not in public view of random people) to cater to comfortability of the situation you are in?

For example I find 10:00 really comfortable for driving and 5:00 for regular carry.
