2 months into possible LPR?

I was travelling in Japan 2 months ago and started to experience tightness in my throat and then excessive burping. It caused a lot of anxiety for me due to the throat sensation. It seemed to last for a week or so and then calmed down. It was after a large meal but in general probably a lot of rich foods leading up to this. I had thought that was the end of it.

About 3 weeks ago I got a cold (could be flu/covid as well I'm not sure), and I seem to have gone from having a viral sore throat to throat tightness from GERD/LPR over the course of a week. Wondering if all of the coughing irritated the lining of my throat, making any acid activity much more noticable. Once I was mainly recovered for a couple days whenever I'd need to talk for a while I'd start coughing uncontrollably due to dryness in my throat and the tightness started soon after.

For the past week or maybe 10 days I've felt the base of my throat is tight and constricting. Whenever I eat, usually within a half hour or hour I have an urge to burp much more than normal and I've felt a pit like feeling in my stomach probably from stress. My throat is also very dry. After exercise I can feel it's got almost no moisture in it until I drink water. I talked to a doctor and he put me on pantoprazole once a day for the next 4 weeks.

I've cut out coffee and fried food over the past several days as well now.

Just sharing my experience recently as it's caused me a lot of anxiety.
