Slow (molasses territory) burn horror movie I'm not sure I want to remember
I recall seeing this around 15-20 years ago. I was sure it was called "Exit" but I've never been able to find it on google (there's quite a few movies with that title, so maybe that's a problem).
Anyways, this movie was sooooo slow for the first 90% or so, more or less just following around a young woman who was moving to another city at the end of the month. (For some reason, Seattle sticks in my head as the location.) There's the odd hint of a stalker, but nothing too overt (iirc).
The ending is what really got me, and why I'm not sure I want to remember/ see this movie again. There was indeed a stalker, and he sneaks into the garage during the woman's going away party and axe murders everyone but her. The movie ends with the woman and the stalker looking over the city from her balcony, with stalker guy giving a crazy stalker diatribe while the girl is just standing beside him with duct tape or plastic wrap covering her head.
Maybe for hardened horror buffs (which I'm not) it would be a bore-fest but, man, the murder scene seemed just so realistic it disturbed me to my core. No hint of the supernatural or any heroics from any of the guests. Just a bunch of normal people in a normal situation facing a guy with an axe. The ending stuck with me for years.
