What is wrong with my armourstack merc?

What is wrong with my armourstack merc?

I have invested way more into this than i should have but ive always wanted to try an armourstack minion build (my previous attempts with armourstack AGoS have been underwhelming).

I understand that i would gain alot from many many small upgrades (cold+fire resist on all gear pieces, merc with better support gems etcetc) but i spent about a mirror trying to get this working and it just isnt. For normal mapping its fine, but its nowhere near where i think it should be. Also the mirror investment does not mean its worth a mirror, ive made plenty mistakes along the way (trying to selfcraft the merc chestpiece unsuccesfully for example) which has made my money go poof.

But anyway, here it is. What major mistakes have i made which destroy my build and how do i fix it?

Mistweaver utility expectations

Just got my Mistweaver up and running, currently at +10-12 range and feeling pretty comfy. Whenever i watch youtube gameplay footage (much higher keys though), the mistweaver always does a load of utility. Paralysis this, paralysis that, ring of peace ere etcetc. Are there ever expectations of a mistweaver to do that stuff in PUGs or is that strictly for pre-decided strats in synchronised teams in higher keys?

Edit: i realize i phrased this a bit poorly. I do try to use my kit to the best of my ability while in combat. My question is mostly regarding ”setup” things. Like paralysing specific mobs in specific places. Like one of the patrol mosquito packs on the tree boss, or one of the collidy ghost thingies. Stuff like that

Which mechanics can be skipped at low keys (<+13)?

So i am a resto shaman and still dont know all mechanics. Usually watch a quick guide before every dungeon. Last night me and a friend were trying to time +12 Seat, and we failed twice because during the very first pull, people died. In the guide for that trash pull some emphasis is put on the ability that chains people and i was focusing on breaking that chain and windrush toteming it etc etc. But my healing couldnt keep up because people just stood there. I got chewed out for my hps being low and i said i was trying to not die to mechanic and it was explained to me that you can just heal through it. So i did that next time and it was super easy.

So my question is, since most guides are probably made for high keys +20 and above where mechanics matter, which mechanics can you just power through at 12-14 keys now that people are generally overgeared? (Or maybe the question should be which mechanics we CANT power through?) Dont wanna end up in the situation again where i follow the guide and nobody else does and people die because of me.

Edit: yes i had jet stream, and the round of chains where i used the totem was fine. The next round of chains i dispelled on myself with wolf form. But the round after that i did try to break the chains by running away. I understand now that doesnt work. So i fked that part up at least

Dont fall for the bait of buying Mage Tower carry

I really wanted the fel werebear skin for my guardian druid. And mechanically i am really bad. I gave the mage tower a go just to try it out after watching a guide. I bought all the recommended consumables and enchanted my gear etcetc. Died maybe 15-20 times in a row. Took a break, had dinner, logged back on without any buffs and cleared it in 5-6 attempts. The guides make it look super-easy and super-hard at the same time. But if you understand what to look out for and how to counter each mechanic all it really comes down to is how to angle your camera so you dont miss anything bad coming your way. And one thing the guides get correct is how any mistake will likely outright kill you, what the guides dont tell you is that as long as you focus on the mechanics you dont really need to worry about keeping yourself alive. So thats one thing off your mind.

Phase1: -damage the main dude -dont stay too long in his puddle (i didnt let it get past 4 stacks since if you need to interrupt him you get more stacks) -interrupt main dude casting drain life -moonbeam the little eye thingies and hit them with thrash if they arent too much out of your way -if eye thingies point a green laser at you, face them and it does nothing -keep moving so the infernals dont smack you off the platform -when the 4 adds come, use your interrupt roar thingy when they start casting

Just keep doing that over and over

Phase 2: -damage the main dude -keep moving so the infernals dont hit you off the platform -when the 4 adds spawn, use interrupt roar when they cast -when main dude casts annihilate use a defensive (just ONE, you need to survive a few of these) -after he does annihilate he casts a ”reflection something something” interrupt that -jump over the purple beams or they will drag you -if you enter panic mode, run into one of the glowy balls and take a deep breath

Thats basically it. Your gear doesnt matter much since it is downscaled to about 225 anyway. Buffs and consumables are nice but not at all needed as badly as the guides make it seem (i had the weapon oil thingy active when i cleared it but nothing else). Running standard no apex build but with sundering roar for a bit of extra dmg to phase2 main dude.

Now stop worrying and go get your werebear! I suck and i did it, which means you can too!

Is healing supposed to be so stressful at low keys?

Sorry for long post.

I should start with explaining that im a returning player an havent played in like 10 years, currently ilvl 240ish resto druid. I didnt complete a mythic last week so i didnt have a key for this week and for some reason Lindormi didnt give me a new one even though according to google thats how i get a new key.

Figured id try a mythic0 just to try it (and get my own key) but there were no groups listed so i expanded to mythic+ to see if there were any low keys i could do. Eventually a +5 appeared and i asked if it was cool if i joined even though im a noob. Leader was cool with it (and was a cool guy throughout the dungeon even though i sucked).

Everywhere i read about mythic+ here on reddit the popular opinion seems to be everything up to +10 is basically free. I didnt expect free, but i did NOT expect having 300+ heartrate the entire dungeon from start to finish.

Every pull was a horrible experience, and i did whatever i could to keep my team alive, i had lifebloom up 100% i swiftmend on cooldown, i dispel what could be dispelled, i tried not to stand in puddles (succeeded for the most part) but i was taking constant damage so keeping myself alive became harder than keeping my team alive. Every 3rd or 4th so action i did was healing myself or using barkskin. Had to convoke one every other pack, same with tranq. I died 5-6 times during the run and we wiped 3 times.

Do i just suck? Was my ilvl way too low for +5? Did my team take a buttload of uneccesary dmg? (Didnt check that on dps meter because i realized i could do that way too late)

Or is it supposed to fry my nerves just doing a +5 pug? Btw we still completed it in time, so im really happy. But im strongly reconsidering playing healer.

Edit: was Windrunner Spire i ran, since someone asked
