Riverside - Y'all Trying to Do Too Much

I've been using Riverside for many years with our podcast, and for the longest time it was the easy go-to. You recorded, live-streamed, and then had some ability to repurpose your content for your socials. It wasn't complicated, but it worked.

Now, Riverside seems to want to do everything, and the problem is that they don't really do anything well. The main reason I kept coming back to Riverside was because of the repurposing. The editor wasn't complicated or made for complicated edits, but that's fine when you're just pulling stuff from a podcast.

With the new rollouts, there always seems to be an issue every time we do a show. Live streaming is touch and go, with it falling out several times during the stream. Mic volumes off, camera feed shuts off randomly.

Then when you get to the product afterward, the new editor is so clunky and unresponsive it's insane. Yesterday I had a whole issue with support where the AI option to remove pauses wasn't working. Like I would toggle it on and nothing happened. It wasn't until support said the work around was to select "Apply to screenshare and media." A work around? It used to just work when you clicked on it making it really easy to clean up content.

I'm sure there are other products I can stack to get the results I am looking for, but in reality, Riverside seems to keep trying to add all these new features and none of them work that well. I miss when it was simpler and just worked. Now I don't feel confident any time I hit record or go live that it will work.

Rant over.

Amex Split and Pay Statement Credits

I know this has been asked a bunch of times, but I'm still confused on what to do with this.

So for Amex, you can use something called the, AMEX split and pay for statement credits of big purchases. For example, I just went on a trip with a buddy of mine, and we split the hotel room cost, and I sent him a Amex split request.

What happens is a request is sent to my buddy through Venmo, he pays it through Venmo, and then a statement credit is applied to our Amex account to pay down that charge. So actual money is not coming back into our account, instead it's reducing our balance on the Amex.

But when you look at YNAB, it looks like you have more set aside for a credit card payment than there really is. You can't move the money into RTA, because it's not actual money that you can then move somewhere else. The point is to just help pay down statement credits.

I've seen different approaches such as assign it to RTA, or if you have excess you can move it to another category, but again, it's not actual money. My usual practice is to have it go back to the category where I spent from, but then the problem is your available balance for your Amex goes up.

Any thoughts would be appreciated because YNAB help doesn't make this as clear as it should be.

I am looking at picking up the Pit Boss 1020 DX Combo Grill and I see the width is about 68 inches for the entire grill assembled but I am curious about the base with the wheels. I have a cement block on my patio that is 5 feet 5 inches wide, so I want to make sure the wheel base will fit. If anyone can help I would appreciate it.
