"New" Ted Williams video/recording with Bobby Doerr debating hitting

It's on today's newest drop of Passan's pod 'Sources Tell Jeff Passan' and I'm listening to it now and it's just awesome. Here's the description of the pod:

"On this episode of Sources Tell Jeff Passan, newly discovered footage captures baseball legends Ted Williams and Bobby Doerr on a fishing trip, talking—and debating—the art of the baseball swing.

Jeff is joined by Joey Votto, who idolized Williams and studied The Science of Hitting, along with the Executive Director of the Ted Williams Foundation and a friend and former security guard of Ted’s.

Together, they watch this remarkable footage and break down Ted’s thoughts on hitting, his approach to the swing, and what it’s like to hear one of baseball’s greatest hitters talk about his craft in such a candid setting.

A rare glimpse of baseball history that has to be seen."

You can find it wherever you get your podcasts. So far, I highly recommend the listen.

I'm all for Jerry goofing around with opposing pitchers names again

I mean, the games can't get any worse/depressing/aggravating, so why not? Plus it's actually funny when there are names he truly struggles to pronounce right.

Yes to having Kennedy on the 10

The guys discuss it early on the new pod and I'd like to throw my vote out to say I'd like to hear the guys interview him especially after the very negative (for him) things he said about this season on last week's interview on EEI. That was really the first time I remember Sam not being all puppies and rainbows even talking about the team, would be great if the fellas could get a really candid talk with him.

They fired the wrong guy(s)

Ownership should have cleaned house in the front office, not getting rid of Cora and his staff. Now I know that might be a hot take because there are a LOT of anti Cora people out there, but this team is not better, it's worse. And yes, I understand that Breslow was the 246th choice for the job because no one wanted it, but he is beyond incompetent. Sure, he's made a few good deals here and there, but does anyone REALLY trust him going forward? Do you have any faith that he will handle the trade deadline well?

I'm not blaming Tracy for the way things are going because he was tossed into a shit show, but he is pretty clearly in over his head, even though it's not his doing. And the cobbled together minor league staff that was pulled from all corners of the Sox minor league system are not helping either. This team sucks at everything all at the same time, except for the starting pitching.

Can they just burn it all to the ground and start over? Probably not, but the longer that Breslow stays and there isn't a real manager at the helm, it's just going to keep getting worse. At this point, I would rather have seen them fire Breslow instead of Cora and either move someone else from the FO into the POBO position or maybe even had moved Cora into the FO since he had always said that was something he was interested in doing. But so far, everything the team has done has made them worse.

And I'm not in the 'see the team' camp either because, I'm not sure why people think if Henry sells the team that we'd be getting the next Steve Cohen when they could end up with someone like the Marlins ownership and their ~$70 million payroll. Henry spends (and he could definitely spend more), but the spending has not been done well. So everyone that chants 'sell the team' might get what they wish for and we end up with an ownership that's worse, not better, which is what the odds would say.

Honestly, I'm really at a loss at what the team should do. It's an awful product to watch, the FO is awful, you have upset players Like Narváez, who's quotes about no one telling him why he's lost his playing time and how depressing hearing him sound is. And Anthony and Crochet having to come out and tell everyone that their injuries are worse than what the team is saying they are. They just aren't fun to watch and every rumor or news that comes out is always worse ands worse. It's worse than a dumpster fire with no light at the end of the tunnel in sight.
