Fight outside NY Comedy Club (Midtown) right before the show. 5/13/26
While waiting to get inside, a man about 2-3 people behind me was grabbed and choked with a belt by a random stranger. We pulled them apart and waited for the cops which came pretty fast about less than 5 min. No serious damage to anyone but seemed completely unprovoked. The assailant was talking a bunch of shit after like hes done worst blah blah blah. He was surrounded so he couldn't leave. But when the cops arrested him, as hes being cuffed, he was yelling for Luis J Gomez to come out RIGHT NOW! I spoke to the victim and he also has no idea why this happened. I will say he held his own great tho. Good BJJ skills. He enjoyed the show sitting behind me afterwards. Luis did ask and joke about it at the beginning of the show and we moved on.
If anyone has any more information to piece together this "random" attack please post or if you were there also, post your perspective. Or if anyone filmed it also post it.
And if you are the victim reading this... I was the guy who gave you a pound at the end of the show outside and tipped my hat for holding your own by yourself! Also realizing if I came 5 minutes later it woulda been me getting choked out. Stay safe!
