Gabapentin

Dr prescribed Gabapentin for body aches during a flare in addition to prednisone? Was this helpful for anyone ? No fibro diagnosis for me (yet?) it seems to help more than prednisone - wonder if this means fibro or just part of my brain perception of RA ?

UCTD

Recently DX w UCTD, but rheum highly suspects seronegative RA due to scan findings. My main issues were malaise to the point I was calling in sick to work and just feeling super achey and like I had the flu or covid and kept getting these flares on and off for years. Surprised that it is likely RA . Anyone else w similar journey? I’m female mid 40s.

No joint pain

Has anyone’s diagnosis been a huge shock? I had no joint pain. I had gone to rheum for chronic body aches and flu tired feeling for a long time. Was completely shocked. Still in disbelief?

Dairy gluten and bloat

A year ago before I had any idea about RA, I got stomach issues and flu ish after eating gluten (have cut this since last year, not celiac did all the testing) now I’m realizing dairy has been causing extreme bloat.
As of now my labs are ok but scans show inflammatory poly arthritis on my wrist. Rheum dx UCTD but highly suspects seroneg RA.
Anyone else w the food issues too? I’m wondering h if there will be something linked determined later 🤨 my main issues have been feeling exhausted and flu ish no fever
Post anonymously because I feel crazy at this point 😬
So glad I found you all!

Flu ish malaise

Going on 6th week of this 😯. UCTD but rheum highly suspects seroneg RA. Prednisone bridge started plaquenel last wk. my mind gets scared since this has gone on so long I must have something else - I’m so new to this. I only have inflammatory poly arthritis in my wrists … I feel best at rest. When I feel semi normal I try to do physical activities such as garden or go for walk but then the malaise comes back. I know I’m not alone - my wrists a little sore but this never ending flu is my main symptoms…. Anyone else have this as thier first huge symptoms? Had a million labs taken so trying to reassure my brain this is finally the answer to these bouts of “flu” but this one has lasted longer than any other.

Day after doing something active

Again I’m very new just DX just started Plaquenil. If I have a day I feel relatively ok and garden etc the next day or two I’m completely ache and worn out all over… does this get better once meds really kick in? Feeling down - I’m 43 w kids and just feel sad. Labs were ok but inflammatory arthritis found in wrists

Sick of being told it’s nothing

For yeaaaaars (I’m 46 now) I’ve had bouts if bad body aches like flu ish that last 2 days - a week bad where I’m calling in sick, sensitive to light and sound, anxiety, history of PTSD, sleep issues, public for issues just a few. The body aches seemed to come out of nowhere, but definitely at times come after periods of extreme stress. I really wonder if this could be fibromyalgia I had ANA done negative. Nothing wrong. Celiac panel done not that. My doctor told me since my body aches are not 24 seven and I don’t have a trigger point test that it is not fibro. I’m at the point where I want to see a rheumatologist to see if this is what could be going on?
