Which campaign villain do people really like??

So far, I've played all the campaigns and enjoyed it all, but one common question - Which villain from these campaigns is the most likeable one?

My take on this:- I'd say that Tezcatlipoca is by far my favorite villain because the fact that he is a crafty trickster and formidable warrior through his words and actions. It's obvious given that it's his nature as the god of darkness, sorcery, trickery and chaos, but his personality of being a trickster god that's worshipped so much by the Aztecs (including a festival in his honor called Toxcatl) makes me forget that he's actually a villain in the Obsidian Mirror Campaign. Oh, I absolutely love his jaguar form in the artwork and as the hero unit too (except for the fact that the beard he has makes him look more like a lion than an actual jaguar, but I love the overall aesthetics) which they could have improved upon.

He literally tricked Quetzalcoatl (who is a god BTW) into drinking the elixir (which was actually the intoxicating pulque drink) and manipulating him into destroying Aztlan in the prologue of the campaign and Iztaccihuatl couldn't even realise Tezcatlipoca's real motives until the final mission of the OM campaign.

The other villains such as Gargarensis, Kamos, Kemyst, Kagemasa, Kronos' servant, Huang Zhaowu are more about power, chaos and revenge which is typical of the villain archetype. Kronos' servant also plays the trickster role quite well by manipulating Kastor and the Atlanteans into worshipping the Titans and killing the followers of the Olympians so that the Titans can escape the depths of Tartarus, but I feel that he had more to offer as a unit too.

Skult (who is actually Loki) as a unit in the FOTT campaign was more about trickery through words than actions (which is not what Loki should be but you can't have everything), which made me question why Loki himself as a hero unit was not used since it would have had so much potential. So Skult is a side character

In the Immortal Pillars Campaign, Chiyou himself plays a solid role as a god of trickery, chaos and war by allying with a rogue figure like Huang Zhaowu but he completely blows up the trickery aspect the moment he reveals his ulterior motives of ruling the Celestial Court to Huang Zhaowu after stealing the god trap. I get that he has ulterior motives, but why did he backstab his ally? That itself gave a chance for Huang Zhaowu to control him which is something that leaves me baffled.

Issue with the Attack Move command

Is anyone else annoyed with the attack move command like me??

I just don't understand why this happens- I task my armies to attack certain units or buildings and then some of my soldiers stand still while a few of them continue leveling the enemy base.

It baffles me as to why this happens all the time

Any ideas for the next update or patch?

Does anyone have any idea when the next update or patch for fixing the bugs is going to come?

Also, what would you like to see being fixed in the next patch??

My frustration with the bugs while playing Aztecs in the game

Is it just me or does anyone feel that the Bloodletting mechanism used by the warrior priests to generate favor if you're playing Quetzalcoatl seems bugged because the favor trickles are too slow??

Also, the incarnates of Huitz and Tezca have no in-game information (unlike the hero unit of the same name) unlike the incarnate of Quetz (who has the same info as the hero unit) and ideally the major gods themselves should have had more or less the same info in-game.

The Shorn Ones do not generate extra Tonalli while playing Huitz. Huitz should have been given the focus on favor generation, conquest and expansion while Tezcalipoca should be focusing on aggression, myth units and War Hut soldiers.

One thing I've noticed is that whenever I send my armies to attack other players in mulitplayer or the AI in Skirmishes regardless of the major god UI choose, the usual battle music plays but only the Japanese Pantheon has a dedicated war-themed OST (besides the Pantheon theme) that feels like we're truly going to war.

It's disappointing that the other Pantheons don't have specific war music dedicated to each one of them which should tell the player how he's in for a bloody spectacle of chaos and war as his armies ravage the cities of other players, make enemy soldiers bite the dust and gain position on the leaderboard.

TBH, I loved the Aztec god powers in all both mods i.e. ROTG and The Aztec Mod for AOM:EE and the Obsidian Mirror DLC for AOM Retold

I do feel that some of the god powers had so much potential to be made better based on the needs they serve such as Tlaloc's GP Pillar of Tlalocan which could have been made into something more powerful or Tlaloc could have got a completely different GP such as Cyclone or Blood Rains that would have put him on the same lines as Mictlantecuhtli or Xolotl when it comes to Mythic Age GPs being very game changing.

I just wanted to ask all the people on this subreddit who've played AOM in all its versions including Retold and have probably spammed some of their favorite units in both single and multiplayer games- Which infantry units do you love spamming the most and why??

Personally, I like all the infantry units of each pantheon but the Aztecs are my go-to favorite followed by those of the Chinese, Norse, Greeks, Japanese, Egyptians and Atlanteans.

It's been a few days since I finished Obsidian Mirror and my mind cannot help but go back to the time when I bought the OG game with CD in 2017, then I bought Extended Edition and Retold on Steam a year ago and finished all the campaigns on Hard difficulty. Peak RTS casual gaming right there

Now I am replaying all of the campaigns again because I can't get over how good the game is (nostalgia) and all the new content it has gotten and I am hoping for even more content.

What do you people feel?

PS:- Should I attempt Arena Of the Gods in Story Mode or Gauntlet Mode??

So, I went to the editor in AOM Retold and decided to test whether the snake form of Quetzalcoatl would be able to defeat Chiyou in his titanic form since Chiyou is not a ranged her unit at all and I set Quetz to player 1 and Chiyou to player 2.

To my shock and surprise, Chiyou was able to wound and kill Quetzalcoatl's snake form after a long duel even though that should not happen at all since Chiyou's titanic form has the special Titanic Smash ability and Quetzalcoatl's lightning bolts did little to no damage to Chiyou because Chiyou obviously regenerates very fast in comparison to Quetz.

Has anyone else tried this? What do you guys think?

Not dissing the devs about Obsidian Mirror because it's a superb DLC, but I feel a little disappointed with the compendium information about the Aztec gods in Obsidian Mirror since there's too little information for anyone who's new to Aztec Culture but loves RTS games like AOM.

In contrast, ROTG had some more information about the Aztec Pantheon from the Codexes even though it's a superb mod made by a group of passionate AOM modders and fans.

Do you guys feel that the devs should have referred to the Codexes and put more information??
