AITA? How do you feel when someone share their miraculous success?

I would like to know if I’m the only one (maybe I am 😅) who doesn’t feel any hope after hearing someone share their miraculous TTC experience and end up having a healthy baby…

After 12 years TTC and $30k dropped… when someone says, “Ohh, I just got tired and stopped everything and gave it all to God, and the next month I was pregnant”…

Of course I reply: “That’s wonderful…”

But on the inside I’m thinking: that wouldn’t happen to me.

I’ve been through all the feelings: joy, hope, feeling like God is on my side, and also feeling completely left behind…

Today I started watching a YouTube video about infertility because I was trying to increase my hope, and the girl said:
“Doctors told me I only had a 2% chance of having a biological child, but that was all it took for God…”

And here I am, buying donor sperm and going through my 3rd IUI… I had to stop the video because it was just too much for me.

So… no. That doesn’t give me hope at all. And sometimes I feel guilty for feeling that way.

Can you share your thoughts with me? It would really help me to hear other people’s POVs.

POV: When the pharmacist tells me to make sure I'm not pregnant before taking Letrozole.

I’m sure, thank you for the reminder

IUI + world cup 😱

Hi everyone!! Today I have my second IUI!! And it’s on the same day as the the World Cup final!!!

In my first IUI I laid on the couch all day, but I don’t remember how bad the pain was 😵‍💫

Today I had plans to meet up with my friends at a bar to watch the game, but now I don’t know if I should go or if the stress or anxiety during the game will be good for me…

What would you do?

My HSG experience (it was good)

Hi all! Thank you for your encouragement about doing the HSG!
Reading about a few good experiences really helped me. I’m just out of my procedure and it was actually fine!

I think that the IUI was somehow more painful than this (I mean, not the procedure itself, but the pain I felt on days 1 and 2 was worse than what I felt just now during the test).

I think the key to my “success” was being intentional with my breathing…

The whole time (while I was in the waiting room and when I was already undressed in the examination chair waiting for the doctor), I was doing breathwork.

I closed my eyes and was inhaling, exhaling, holding, and releasing in 3, 2, 1, etc.

That really helped me stay calm and not tense my muscles, which I think is the reason why it is so painful for most…

They told me to take everything off, but I kept my bra on and put the socks they gave me on top of mine, so I wouldn’t dysregulate my body temperature.

I also took the largest dose of ibuprofen I could find 1 hour before, and now I’m resting on my couch. They told me that I did great and that they don’t usually have procedures go as easily as mine…

Maybe that's something they say to everyone, but it made me feel proud of myself because I was REALLY scared, and all of this has been too much.

Thankfully everything was normal, so I’m ready and hopeful for my 2nd IUI 🤞🏻🙏🏻

Recap:
If you’re calm and you don’t tense your muscles, you’ll be fine. Just focus on your breathing and inflating your abdomen. And try to stay warm.

12 dpiu 14 dpt failed 😞

I’m so sad. I thought that since we are using a donor and my numbers are ok, it would work… But I tested this morning and there was only one strong line.

I didn’t do the HSG because I knew it was really painful, and since we had MIF, I thought I could skip that part… My doctor said that it was recommended but not obligatory..
Would you do it now after a failed first IUI? Or would you just start another IUI right away?

It’s so sad, these past weeks I’ve felt horrible, and knowing that I have to go through it all again sucks 🫠

And also, we were extremely open about this, we told everyone… Now it’s time to update them and tell them it didn’t work 😵‍💫

8dpo going crazy + everyday symptoms

Omgggg I can’t with the TWW… I have all the symptoms, but I know it’s just my hormones 🫠🫠

Context: 34, severe MIF so, using donor. 9 years TTC, first IUI May 28th

This is how I’ve been feeling lately (or what I can remember):

During Letrozole: Severe headaches, sleepy, and I couldn't articulate some words.

Menopur: Bloated, more headaches, and it was so scary doing the shots. I’m forever grateful to my husband for his help.

Trigger shot: It left me with bruises.

IUI day: Spotting and uterine pain due to the catheter.

1 dpiui: Same, and I was exhausted.

2 and 3 dpiui: The pain changed and I felt it in my lower abdomen, like period cramps.

4 and 6 dpiui: EXTREMELY tired; I slept until 10–11 am every day.

7 and 8 (today) dpiui: I started feeling like I couldn't breathe; every movement felt like running a mile.

Also, I feel like I'm about to pass out sometimes. I’m not nauseous, but it’s like the very beginning of it… Do you ever feel like: "I’m ok, but if I bend over, I might throw up"? It’s weird.

And I know I shouldn’t, but I’ve been reading a lot of other people's experiences, and I realized that none of this really points to success, which makes it even more stressful…

I haven’t tested yet. I’m going to wait until Monday (12 dpiui) just to be sure and avoid false hopes 😅

Sooooo, I’m going crazy right now. This TWW sucks… Does anyone else feel the same?

Heading to the clinic for my first IUI 😱

After 9 years TTC (MIF) finally we decided to use donor sperm and it’s my first IUI in a few minutes 🙏🏻

What do you usually do after? You laid in bed, go for a walk? Do you eat something in particular?

Wish me luck 🙏🏻🙏🏻

First IUI, MIF, 34, 9 years TTC, sperm donor

Hi everyone! I’ve been reading your posts and I’d like to share my story 💖

After 6 years TTC (just without any contraception methods), in 2022 we finally found out about the azoospermia.

He had varicocele surgery on 2024, but it didn’t work out. Then he was on pills and very expensive shots while I also remove a big polyp, and finally, this year we decided to pivot and we are using a sperm donor, which is insanely expensive! $2,300 each vial 🫠

We don’t have insurance or any help, but we have been saving money for years for this.. and it’s crazy how only in 1 week we spend over 10k like nothing

So we are now on our first IUI.
I have high hopes since my levels are fine, I’m in good health, I exercise regularly, and I’ve been taking prenatals for 5 years haha.

I’m on day 3 of Letrozole. The first 2 days I felt really slow (I couldn’t articulate some thoughts, which was CRAZY) and had a bad headache…. But today I’m feeling pretty good…

I’ve read EVERYTHING about how to increase the chances of success, and there’s this “fertility cocktail” 🍹 (coconut water, organic orange juice, and sea salt) that provides the body with good nutrients, I think, and I started making it yesterday …

I’ve done it all and sometimes I feel dumb, like… What’s the point of being healthy while others get pregnant while doing drugs lol.

I think it's just another way to feel like I’m doing something, even though I’m not sure if it really moves the needle…

Overall, I’m trying to stay positive and trusting that even if it doesn’t happen now, it will happen in the next round or eventually 🙏🏻

So… I’ll keep you posted on how it goes!

How do you all deal with trying to stay positive, but at the same time trying not to have high expectations knowing that there's only a 15% chance of success?
