Finally worked up the courage to go for my first gyno exam and pap smear at 33. They couldn't do it.

Diagnosed with vaginismus. I'm crying from frustration. FML. it took me so long to finally get the courage to go and my fears came true. It was hellishly painful like I was being actively skewered and torn in half. And even when I told them to keep going despite the pain it was mechanically impossible. Unsuccessful and now referred to pelvic floor pt.

I'm just so furious and frustrated with my body. I really wanted to start pursuing options to have a child via ART one day and now everything is on hold because I can't do a friggin pap smear or any gyno exam. I did the deep breathing Ive been to therapy I'm just like WTF is wrong with my body why is it like this. This is gonna make everything harder.

Angry and furious and frustrated. I'll go to pt but right now I just want to smash something. You had one job, vagina. Why tf are you like this. I hate everything.

1st IUI fingers crossed!

Hey everyone!

I’m 30, husband (32) and I have been trying for over a year after we had 2 miscarriages in 6 months. Sought fertility treatment and found out my last miscarriage caused a block in my left tube, but otherwise we’re both perfectly healthy.

Today I had my 1st IUI! The whole process has been long, because I ovulated 3 months in a row on my blocked side (go figure), but this cycle finally on my good side! Even though I ovulate fine, we did the trigger shot for timing sake, and I took clomid in my follicular phase for hyper ovulation.

I’m so excited! We’re feeling very hopeful! I know the odds, but reading all y’all stories of success are so encouraging!

Fingers crossed for us!!!

Any experience with stalled follicles?

I'm trying to do my first IUI this month. I have unexplained infertility (no PCOS) and was given 3.75mg letrozole on cd 3-7. I was scanned on CD11 with one 14mm follicle and went back today (CD13) and it has not grown at all. I'm feeling so discouraged. Has anyone had experience with this? My doctor told me to take 5mg of letrozole today and tomorrow and I'll rescan on CD15. I don't know why that follicle stopped growing and I don't know what's wrong with me!

Positive OPK on CD7 while still on Clomid (day 5) — is this normal?? 😳

Hi everyone, I could really use some insight. I’m on cycle day 7, currently on day 5 of Clomid (took my 4th pill last night). This morning I got a positive LH surge on two different OPK brands (Easy@Home and Inito).

This feels way too early — I haven’t even finished my Clomid course yet. Has anyone else experienced an early positive like this while still taking Clomid? Was it a true surge, or could Clomid be causing a false positive? Did you still ovulate on schedule, or earlier than expected?

Thank you 💛

Has anyone had IUI success with Dr. Khulood Murad in Waterloo? Dealing with a 9cm fibroid & feeling brushed off.

Hi everyone,
I’m currently undergoing fertility treatments with Dr. Khulood Murad in Waterloo. I just finished my first medicated cycle and my second IUI cycle without success, and I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed and unsupported.
My biggest concern right now is that I have subserosal fibroids up to 9cm. Whenever I bring it up, she doesn't seem bothered by the size at all and is continuing with standard IUI cycles.
I’m hoping to connect with others who have been in a similar situation:

  1. Has anyone successfully conceived through IUI under Dr. Murad's care? What was your experience like with her clinic?
  2. If you had large fibroids (subserosal or otherwise), did your RE address/treat them before continuing with IUI or moving on to IVF?
  3. If you eventually switched clinics in the KW/Tri-City area (or headed to London/Toronto/Mississauga), who did you switch to and was it a better experience?
Any leads, honest experiences, or advice would be hugely appreciated! Thank you in advance

TW: mention of miscarriage Slow rising HCG

HELP!!!
Feel like I’m in beta hell with all the uncertainty and no answers
So little backstory: 7/18- trigger shot
7/20: IUI
8/3 positive test
8/4 @7am hcg: 58
8/6 @7am hcg: 165
8/10 @ 7am hcg: 165.9
8/12 @10am hcg: 212.5 ( dr mention I will possibly miscarry)
8/13 -ultrasound( didn’t see anything just a small dot in my uterus)
8/17 @ 7am 463.3
8/18 @3pm 635.5 ( did 2nd ultrasound didn’t see anything 5w6d)
8/19 @10:30am 733.7

I’ve never been pregnant before so this all new to me and I’ve been looking at others stories with low hcg levels. Dr said I can keep monitoring my levels but has also mentioned to me already about methotrexate injection.

Any thoughts ?? Good or not so good outcomes? I’m just looking for any feedback . I just turned 6 weeks today 8/19

First iui success ended in loss

Ah, I’m back. I had posted the success of my first iui back in July. Unfortunately I had a missed miscarriage at 8 weeks. I’m 1 week post d&c (thank the heavens above I was under anesthesia).

I’m feeling a lot better than a couple weeks ago…but I feel defeated. I’ve gained a lot of weight. I’m still trying to feel natural happiness (I know I know hormones…). I’m still clinging to hope that we will have our baby one day.

2 years ttc, 1 loss, and I still hope.

If anyone else has similar experiences would love to hear. I’m just healing currently but slowly opening my mind to what is next for us.

EDIT: thank you for the love. I was sad to have to post this as I didn’t openly share my pregnancy with many except this community. I’m grateful to be apart of supportive humans here. ❤️‍🩹

iui timing

Me again 😅😅 I’m absolutely fuming about my iui timeline this month…..

So cd10 (today) my follicles where 17 and 16 (today’s the 19th on Wednesday)

I’ve been told to gonal F tonight, trigger shot on Thursday night at 8pm and then iui will be 9am Friday morning because she says my LH shows I’ll ovulate early sat morning

I just feel like the timeline is way off and killing my chances at any success I may have….

I have never seen an iui done z13hrs after trigger, but she said she’s concerned I’ll actually ovulate early this month so she would rather do it earlier than too late…

My partner always has 100% motility numbers so I’m hoping they can last… I’ve also read mixed things about how long fresh washed sperm lasts, I’ve read 24-48 hours but I’ve also read 12 AHH

My partner as I will have intercourse tonight, and also Saturday morning to cover as much time as possible but we the all natural way hasn’t worked for 12 months hence the iuis…. So it’s honestly demotivating when we have intercourse now because is there even a point

Increase in success rates?

My first IUI is coming up this week and I have a lot of questions. Is there any actual or anecdotal increase in success rates if we try at home before/after the procedure? Do we need to abstain before sample collection like we do with SA? If that's the case, trying before is out of question. Do people usually try at home after? I feel like I was not given any instruction and just asked to come on day 12 to monitor.

11DPIUI and test came negative

Okay so my IUI was done on 8/8 and I am on oral progrestrone as well twice a day. Today is my 11dpiui and the morning test came out negative. I should have known that I am a true overthinker yet I took an early test.

But I heard somewhere that progrestrone sometimes creates false negative too. Any suggestions or same stories will be encouraging at this point. Thanks.

AITA? How do you feel when someone share their miraculous success?

I would like to know if I’m the only one (maybe I am 😅) who doesn’t feel any hope after hearing someone share their miraculous TTC experience and end up having a healthy baby…

After 12 years TTC and $30k dropped… when someone says, “Ohh, I just got tired and stopped everything and gave it all to God, and the next month I was pregnant”…

Of course I reply: “That’s wonderful…”

But on the inside I’m thinking: that wouldn’t happen to me.

I’ve been through all the feelings: joy, hope, feeling like God is on my side, and also feeling completely left behind…

Today I started watching a YouTube video about infertility because I was trying to increase my hope, and the girl said:
“Doctors told me I only had a 2% chance of having a biological child, but that was all it took for God…”

And here I am, buying donor sperm and going through my 3rd IUI… I had to stop the video because it was just too much for me.

So… no. That doesn’t give me hope at all. And sometimes I feel guilty for feeling that way.

Can you share your thoughts with me? It would really help me to hear other people’s POVs.

CD9 follicles only 10mm and 12mm... is this cycle already a bust?

I’m doing my first medicated IUI cycle with Letrozole and had my monitoring ultrasound today (CD9).

They found two leading follicles measuring 10mm and 12mm on my right side. My doctor told me to come back Friday morning for another ultrasound.

I know logically that follicles can continue growing, but I’m already feeling really discouraged. I had built this whole cycle up in my head and now I’m scared that they’re growing too slowly and that this cycle is going to be for nothing.

My clinic uses 14mm as their minimum follicle size, so I’m wondering if anyone has had follicles around 10–12mm on CD9 and then had them catch up enough to trigger a few days later.

For anyone who has been through Letrozole/IUI: what were your follicle sizes around CD9, and when did you end up triggering?

I feel like 14mm is still small and likely to fail.

TL;DR: CD9 on Letrozole for my first IUI, follicles are 10mm and 12mm. Going back Friday morning. My clinic’s minimum is 14mm and I’m worried they’re growing too slowly. Did anyone else have small follicles around CD9 that caught up?

1st iui failed :(

I’m so so sad and tested negative 13dpo.. passing my due date if it wouldn’t have ended in mmc. This is my first actual iui but I had one being cancelled earlier..
how are you all handling it? I feel like these test days are the worst.

Would you join a local IUI/IVF Meetup, or is this a terrible idea?

I'm currently going through the IUI/IVF journey myself (43 yo, first babe), and one thing I've realized is how lonely, stressful, and emotionally exhausting it can be. Even with supportive family and friends, it's hard for people to truly understand unless they've been through it.

It made me wonder if others feel the same.

Would it be helpful to have a casual local Meetup—not a formal support group—but simply a chance to meet people who are on the same journey? Maybe grabbing coffee, going for a walk, hiking, trying a new restaurant, or just chatting with people who truly "get it."

Sometimes I think what we need most isn't more medical advice—it's knowing we're not going through this alone.

Would you join something like this? If not, what would stop you? I'd genuinely love to hear your thoughts.

1st IUI scheduled!!

Hi! Super nervous for my first IUI. I am trying to be realistic in the sense that I might not get that positive result. However I’m still optimistic and hopeful if that makes sense!

Would love to hear success stories and tips!

I will keep an update on my cycle if that helps anyone!!

TIA 💗

Get Your Ferritin and Vit D checked

My dear soon to be moms, sharing this with you as I haven’t seen Doctors really check this. My friend and I have been on our TTC journeys for quite sometime now - we tried letroz/ chlomid cycles and even IUI but didn’t work. God bless internet - I read that insufficient Ferritin and vit D levels (should ideally be > 50 for both) - makes chances of implantation very low even if everything else seems fine.
This really angered me that how no gynae ever tracked this - and in general keep putting patients through such expensive and physically + mentally taxing cycles of medication - that are doomed to fail coz they didn’t check the basics.

My friend who has been TTC for 2 years now and done OI n IUI only now found out she was ferritin deficient - the failed attempts could have been avoided if only the doctors guided her well and nit just focused on money making.

My situation with my doctors was similar too. So please research and correct the deficiencies before going for your next cycle of OI, IUI.

Hope this helps!
Wish you all luck.
