IUI with thin lining? 24 hr Ovidrel Trigger?

Hi! I am scheduled to do my IUI tomorrow CD22 (7/6) when I went to my clinic on 7/4 CD20 to check my lining still had fluid and was only about 4.8 mm thick. I was prescribed estradiol and took a total of 6mg in about 24hrs per their instruction. Has anyone had fluid in their lining that needed to be aspirated before IUI? Or has done an IUI with a thinner than ideal lining?
7/4 showed a 16.6 follicle and an 18.8 follicle, I triggered with Ovidrel at 2pm CD21 for a 2pm IUI on CD22? Anyone else do a 24 hr trigger before IUI?

10 DPO Negative Test

hi friends, feeling very defeated. i’m on my fourth IUI and got a negative this morning at 10 DPO. did anyone get a stark negative on day 10 but get a positive later on? i really thought i was pregnant this time around.. and IUI is likely my only option as IVF is expensive. Any advice would be helpful

AMH

July 2025 I had my AMH done and it was 15.7pmol/L on CD29. I had 3 unsuccessful IUIs and am now moving to IVF (July 2026), therefore had a repeat AMH done and it was 6.9pmol/L on CD16. For reference I am 28 years old, healthy and no known fertility issues (only doing IUI/IVF due to choosing SMBC route).
Anyone else have their AMH drop significantly in 12 months? Did they do any further tests? Or why else would this happen?

Thank you all, and Keep Going!

My mind and heart were put as ease reading about all your experiences. I wouldn't have made it through all the tests, surgeries, appointments, TWWs, medications, and so much more without you all.

It was special being part of a group who truly understood the emotional and physical tolls of this journey. Thank you for all your advice, support, and encouragement.

My "fertility fight" is over. Before I leave this wonderful group, I want to give my best wishes, warmest hugs, gentlest comfort, and love to all you beautiful ladies who are still fighting or just starting the journey. You can do this!❤️

First IUI was today

Just looking for a little hope… I had my first IUI today— quick and painless. My lining was 12 today and the last follicle measurement which was about 3.5 days ago was 16 mm and 20mm. I didn’t get the measurements today! I did clomid and triggered 36 hours ago.

My husbands post wash count was only 3.5 million and I think she said 41% motility.

I have other living children which were concerned naturally with the same partner. Chances this could work? Every test on my end is fine! Age is mid 30s

Emotional wreck

I am 11 days passt IUI and I feel emotionally unstable. Im on one progesterone suppository but I have been either really emotional, range spouts of rage if something makes me angry or I feel kinda empty. I can go from one emotion to the next pretty fast. Im not usually like this. Wasnt like this my first IUI either. I feel like im going crazy and I feel bad for my husband.

Stopping progesterone 13dpIUI?

Hi all, I had my IUI 12 days ago, trigger 14 days ago. I am testing negative. From what I understand, it is very very unlikely to get a positive test after this point. My blood test isn’t until 15dpIUI.

I am considering stopping progesterone if I have a negative test tomorrow (13dpIUI) in the hopes that my period comes on time. I’ve heard progesterone can delay your period, and I don’t see the point in waiting until 15dpIUI if there’s no pregnancy anyways. I’m taking 400mg twice a day. In addition, I am constantly exhausted, emotional, and voraciously hungry on progesterone, so stopping would help me feel a bit better physically.

Is this off base? Any thoughts? Thanks in advance, everyone.

What day of your cycle did you have IUI?

1st time IUI patient using donor sperm and unmedicated except trigger shot, with regular 27/28 day cycles.

Had a scan at CD9 and largest follicle was only 8mm. Scan at CD11 was 10mm. I am back for another scan tomorrow CD14 and if it has grown enough will be triggering and IUI on CD16. If it hasn’t grown then I presume the IUI will be later - maybe CD18

Is this fairly normal timings? When did everyone else have their IUI?

9/10 DPO just looking for encouragement

Hi guys! It’s been 9 days since my IUI. I’m not really sure how to gauge whether I’m 9 or 10 DPO because I’m pretty confident I ovulated later in the day after my IUI. For my own sanity, I’m going with 9 DPO.
Yesterday morning, I could’ve sworn I had a very faint line on my test (I know it’s early), but then I tested this morning and got a BFN. I drank a little water, did a 4-hour hold, and took two more tests… still negative.

I’m getting scared. I just ordered 7 more tests (5FRER and 2 Digital) because I’ve been operating under the assumption that I was a day later in my cycle than I actually might be so I ran out.

I read about someone who said they got a very faint positive around implantation but didn’t get a true positive until later.

Has anything like that happened to anyone here?
I’m trying really hard not to lose hope. 🤍

First IUI SUCCESS!!!

I tested positive this morning on 13DPIUI. Two strong positives on two different tests! My first ever IUI was June 21st, and we’ve been trying for almost 2.5 years now. I was certain this cycle was a bust because of all PMS symptoms I was feeling, but now I can chalk those up to the progesterone suppositories! I am in SHOCK! Please take this as proof that sometimes the first IUI does work!!! AHHHHH!!!

IUI journey

Sharing this for newbies so they know what to expect. Start with AMH and other health n fertility tests on Day1 of period.

Followed by a scan on day2 and HSG on day 8 (which feels like extreme period cramps). I was asked if I wanted to do it under anesthesia and I declined and feel it was the right decision.

This followed by regular scans leading up to day 12 which is is when my follicle ruptured and was given a trigger shot in the stomach.

IUI is also a painful procedure but nothing unbearable. I needed to rest the rest of the day and was back to normal the next morning. I was on dydrogesterone twice a day for 2 weeks till I tested.

I tested negative 2 weeks later. Apparently the meds imitate pregnancy often so you feel like you're pregnant and then you test negative. For me personally it was quite an emotional journey and not an easy one.

We're debating if we want to do it again.

9 DPO IUI TWW Symptoms

hi everyone! so i’m on my fourth IUI and my history of IUIs are as follows:

  1. natural iui, got pregnant but ended with a chemical

  2. natural iui, didn’t take

  3. clomid cycle, didn’t take

the first three IUIs was with one donor. my doctors say everything looks great with me and that the donor may have been the issue - so my fiance and i switched to a new donor.

with that being said, i wanted to know for those who have had successful IUIs.. did you get pressure in your abdomen that feels like it’s on your bladder? it’s not necessarily painful but .. pressure! i’m also experiencing heaviness in my boobs and horrible fatigue.

and i know i know, im symptom spotting and also am on progesterone but wanting to know if anyone else who had successful IUIs experienced the abdomen pressure???

Second Round of Letrozole in One Cycle (Stair-Stepping)

Has anyone had to do a second round of letrozole in the same cycle?

I took 5 mg of letrozole on CD 3–7 and had ultrasounds on CD 9 and again today (CD 11). My follicles were still too small, so my clinic started me on another 5 days of letrozole at 7.5 mg beginning today (CD 11).

I do normally ovulate on my own, but it’s usually later in my cycle (around CD 18–24), so I’m wondering if that plays a role.

If you’ve been in a similar situation, how long after starting the second round did your follicles respond, and when did you end up ovulating or triggering?

I currently have another scan scheduled for CD 15, which will be 4 days into the second round. I’m wondering if I should ask to be seen a little earlier or if CD 15 sounds about right based on your experience.
I’d love to hear how things went for you. Thanks!

IUI #4

Using this post as a pending positive story and a way to document my stats for this cycle. The follicles and sperm count were the best I’ve ever gotten so I am really hopeful! This is cycle 11 for me: IUI #4 and I used Letrozole for ovarian stimulation. Also, this is my first cycle after my hysteroscopy and treating endometritis!

June 29: I had 2 follicles 16 & 19mm at mid cycle check so by the time of my IUI they were approximately 19 & 22mm. (Assuming rate of growth was 1mm per day)

June 30: I triggered 36 hours before my IUI with Ovidrel.

July 2: IUI

Donor sperm post thaw: 15.39 M TMC (54M/ML with 57% motility, .5 ml vial)

I started testing out my trigger this morning, not sure if I’ll test everyday or every other day but I like to see progression photos!

Letrozole side effects are no joke!

This is my first IUI cycle.

I had my first scan on Friday the 3rd and started Letrozole this morning. Dizzy, nauseous, and the hot flashes omg!

My next scan is on the 13th, they will decide if we can inseminate that same day or the day after or if we have to wait for next cycle.

My doctor is out of office from the 8-11 so we are a little limited this cycle but I am hoping. 🤞🏼

6/23 Twins?

Any 6/23 IUI twins? (6/22 trigger shot 7pm. 6/23 lUI 11am)
This was my first IUI-I was on 5mg clomid, 21mm follicle and 60m sperm. Just had my bloodwork done on 7/1 and they said my progesterone levels were really good.

They said I should be good to take a pregnancy test on 7/7 eeek.

Intercourse before trigger shot?

Hello all, this is my first IUI cycle! I did 5mg of letrozole for 5 days, days 3-7, and had my second monitoring appointment yesterday morning on CD11. I definitely felt cramping/bloating from the letrozole and the firmness hasn’t really gone away, which is so fun lol. One follicle was 14mm and the other was 18 or 19mm, uterine lining was about 5ish mm. The nurse mentioned that they may put me on a med to thicken my lining but that didn’t end up happening. The office called me later on and told me to have intercourse last night 7/3, trigger shot tonight 7/4, and IUI is scheduled for Monday 7/6 at 11:45am. Has anyone been instructed to have intercourse the night before the trigger shot? Most things I’ve seen online has been recommended to do it the night of the shot so I was a little confused! We did it anyways lol. But yeah - is this common/uncommon?

Testing day

When did everyone have their positive pregnancy test?

My clinic told me to wait until 14dpo, but I’m being impatient this month as it’s felt like the slowest TWW of my life…

I’m 9dpo so I won’t test today incase there is residue from trigger shot. When did anyone get their true positive?
