First IUI — Post-Wash Sperm Count

Hi everyone! I just had my first IUI done this morning and I’m already overthinking everything

My husband’s post-wash sperm count was 8.5 million, and I had 2 mature follicles. I’m feeling a little stressed about the sperm count because I’ve seen a few posts where people had much higher numbers.

Is 8.5 million considered okay for an IUI? I know there are so many factors involved, but I’d love to hear from anyone who had similar numbers and how things turned out for you.

I think I just need some reassurance that 8.5 million isn’t necessarily a bad number. ❤️

A positive I knew wasn’t real, but somehow still meant something

Just took a pregnancy test because I did my trigger shot last night, so obviously I knew it was going to be positive.

But I’m 27 and have been trying to conceive for 2.5 years, and I have NEVER seen a positive pregnancy test in my life. Not even once.

I don’t know how to explain it, but seeing those two lines, even knowing it’s just the trigger shot, brought up such a weird mix of emotions. Part of me just wanted to experience what it felt like to see a positive for once. And then I just sat there and ugly cried.

I know it’s not a real positive, and I know the hCG is from the trigger, but I guess after 2.5 years of negatives, seeing those two lines hit a little differently than I expected.

Anyways, trying to put my emotions aside and stay hopeful because I’m going in for my FIRST IUI on Saturday. 💕

Here’s hoping the next positive is the real thing.

Anyone stacking Reta + Mounjaro? I’d love to hear your experience!

Hi everyone! I just wanted to come on here and ask a quick question.
I’ve been doing some research on stacking Reta with Mounjaro, and since I have both, I’m thinking about giving it a try. I’m currently taking 5 mg of Mounjaro, but I’m not sure what dose of Reta people usually add or how they space everything out.
For example, I take my Mounjaro every Wednesday night, so I’m also curious about what kind of schedule others follow when stacking the two.
I’ve searched through the sub a bit, but I’d love to hear from anyone who’s currently doing this or has experience with it. What’s your routine like? What doses are you using, and has it been working well for you?
Thanks so much in advance! I really appreciate any advice or experiences you can share. 😊

I’m annoyed

Hi everyone! I’m just looking to hear from anyone who switched from Mounjaro to Reta.
I was on Mounjaro for about 3 months and worked my way up to 7.5 mg. It worked really well for me at first, but toward the end the weight loss had definitely started slowing down. I decided to switch because I have a family member who’s on Reta and has been seeing amazing results, so I figured I’d give it a try.

I’ve been on Reta for about 6 weeks now, and for the last 2 weeks I’ve been taking 6 mg. I know that’s a pretty high dose this early on, but since I was already on 7.5 mg of Mounjaro, I started a little higher after doing a lot of research. I also read that a lot of people who switched from Mounjaro said it took some time before Reta really started working for them.

I’m just feeling a little confused and frustrated because I haven’t really noticed much yet. If you made the switch from Mounjaro to Reta, how long did it take before you started seeing results? What dose were you on when things finally started to click?

At this point, I’m planning to stick with Reta because I’ve already paid for it, and Mounjaro is just so expensive that I can’t justify switching back on a whim. I’m mainly just looking for a little hope from people who’ve been through the same thing. I’m not sure what I’ll do long-term, but for now I’m going to keep giving it a chance.
I’d really appreciate hearing your experiences. Thanks!

Mounjaro to Reta advice needed please!

Hi everyone! I just wanted to come on here because I have a few questions and was looking for some advice.
I was on Mounjaro for about 3 months and worked my way up to 7.5 mg. It worked really well for me, and I had zero side effects. The only reason I switched to reta was because Mounjaro became way too expensive, and I just couldn’t afford to keep paying for it. Also, before anyone suggests getting “grey” Mounjaro, I don’t have access to that where I live.
One of my family members started reta around the same time I started Mounjaro, and they had amazing results. They lost the same amount of weight I lost in 3 months, but they did it in just 2 months with no side effects. Seeing their experience also gave me the confidence to make the switch.
I’ve now been on reta for 3 weeks. I started at 1.5 mg and have increased my dose each week. From the research I did, I saw that people who were previously on Mounjaro often don’t notice much from the very low starting doses, which honestly seems to be exactly what’s happening with me.
So far, I haven’t lost any weight, and the food noise is back in full force. I was just wondering if anyone else made the switch from Mounjaro to reta. If you did, what dose did you start seeing results on? I’d really appreciate hearing about your experience!

Is it just fat?

I’ve noticed this fatty-looking area under my left armpit. It’s only on that side my right armpit is normal. It’s been there for a few months now. It doesn’t hurt, isn’t hard, and doesn’t really feel like a lump it’s more like a soft pad of tissue.
I don’t remember having it before, but I did gain a fair amount of weight, so I’m wondering if it could be related. I honestly didn’t notice it until recently because I really hated how I looked for a while and avoided paying much attention to my body (I know that probably sounds silly, but it’s true).
It also seems to disappear or become much less noticeable when I lift my arm up. Has anyone else had something like this? What did it end up being? I’m kind of a scaredy cat when it comes to stuff like this.

Switching from mounjaro to Reta

Hi everyone,

I’ve decided to start retatrutide. I’ve been on Mounjaro for almost 3 months, and I took my last 7.5 mg dose last week.

For some context, I started Mounjaro at 205 lbs and I’m currently around 183 lbs, so I’ve lost about 22 lbs in almost 3 months. The main reason I’m considering switching is cost, as Mounjaro is becoming pretty expensive for me. Another factor is that I have two family friends who are currently on retatrutide, and they’ve both had very good results, which definitely gave me more confidence in making the switch.

I’ve been doing a lot of research, and I’ve noticed that people who switched from Mounjaro and started retatrutide at a very low dose often felt like it didn’t work because their bodies were already accustomed to a GLP-1 medication. From what I’ve read, some people didn’t start seeing noticeable results with retatrutide until they reached around 6 mg.

The thing is, even though I didn’t have any major side effects on Mounjaro (mostly just constipation), I’m still a little nervous about starting too high on retatrutide. I know many people start at a very low dose and gradually work their way up, but since I’m switching from a somewhat higher dose of Mounjaro rather than starting from scratch, I’m wondering if that changes things. Because of that, I’m debating whether I should start at 2 mg or 4 mg.

I’ve done quite a bit of research and feel confident about making the switch overall, but this is the one part I’m still unsure about. For those who made a similar switch, what dose did you start at, and looking back, would you do anything differently?

Any tips or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Progress so far

Hey everyone, I just wanted to get some honest input. I took my first shot on March 12 and I’m down 16.8 lbs so far. I know that’s not nothing, but I can’t help feeling a bit disappointed because I thought I’d be further along by now.

For context: female, 5’4, starting weight 205 lbs, current weight 188 lbs.

Is this a normal rate of progress, or am I just being impatient?
