365 Days on Reta

When I started, I honestly didn't know if it would work. I just knew I was exhausted from losing and gaining the same weight over and over.

The weight loss has been awesome, but the biggest difference has been getting my life back. Food isn't constantly on my mind anymore. I don't avoid pictures, I don't dread shopping, and I actually enjoy being active again.

It's definitely not all sunshine. I've had stalls, frustrating weeks, and body dysmorphia is still very real. Some days I still see the old me in the mirror.

But if I could go back and tell myself one thing, it'd be this: trust the process.

SW: 220 CW: 165.3

5x a week of crossfit & 15K steps a day. Cleanish diet - i try to avoid gluten and processed food.

Dose: 1 mg 2x a week.

Switching from Tirz to Reta Tonight!

Hi ladies! I’m beginning my switch from Tirz to Reta tonight. I chose this to help with my belly fat and not being able to eat enough minimum calories on Tirz for my needs.

For those who have done this, is there anything you wish you knew when taking the first dose of Reta?

Reta to tirz?

I am thinking about switching from Reta to Tirz, as I am finding that Reta isn’t giving me the results I want. I’m defs going to stop it after I finish my vial, but I want everyone’s opinion on tirz, or whether I just stop peps all together

For background, I’m 22F, 169cm and 61kg. I am training for an Ironman so I do a lot of endurance training. Reta completely ruined my endurance and I need to stop it. I’ve been on it for 6 weeks and only lost around 1.5-2kg anyways, and I slowly increased my dose from 0.5-1.5mg over that period. And as for my caloric intake, I’m ranging for 1800-2200 a day which I know is a lot for someone my size, but emphasis on the fact I’m doing a lot of endurance training (I’ve been hated on for my cals in another group oops)

My RHR went from 40 to 54, my HRV went from 110 to 63, and o really struggle with a lot of my training now, so Reta’s just really not worth it for me.

But I’ve read a bit about tirz, and I’m thinking about giving that a go. Does tirz give any endurance athletes negative side effects? Or does it help with body recomp (ie getting leaner/reducing the ‘skinny fat’ look).

I considered MOTSC to counteract Reta but prior to Reta my data was incredible and I had a really high V02 max so I don’t think it’s really necessary for someone of my age and position at the moment

Thanks in advance

Reta stall?

i noticed after 5 weeks all my appetite suppression i once had, is completely gone. I’ve already titrated up. I’m currently at 2mg every 7 days as of last week. the first few weeks i was having to force myself to hit a calorie count. But i was happy because i had no cravings, which meant no binging. I was doing good at keeping track of myself. Drinking lots of water. My only side effects were nausea and some heart burn, as well as bloating. 2 healthy meals a day (normally fast until lunch) i finally was able to completely cut down on sodas, sugar cravings, and emotional eating. But now everything i once felt has come to a complete halt. Im starting to snack and munch all the time again. And my food noise is back. My portion control has been bad for a few years, and i thought i was finally able to get the hang of it now. Has this happened to anyone else? Am i correct for wanting to wait it out, is there something else i should be doing? Is this just an up and down?

I have not lost any weight it seems, I want to stack and interested in reta how much should I start with? I have inflammation and nothing is working. I'm going to order Reta just need to figure out how much mg shoujd I purchase and take. I'm not scared to start out higher as I rarely get any side effects to meds at all. I'm ready to dive in. Thx

Newbie questions

I’m 37YO, I have endometriosis and I currently have an IUD (Mirena) - have any of you noticed your periods be heavier that have an IUD or see irregularity in them?

Second question, for those who have lost fat so far, where did it take the fat from, stomach and legs first or where? I’m genuinely curious if it’ll take the visceral fat that I’ve read about. Also curious if I will lose a ton of breast size on this journey as well. I understand YMMV but wanted to ask and see what people’s experiences have been.

Experiences for ladies who experienced weight loss, then stalled on tirz, and moved over to Reta?

Hey ladies,

I’m 49, in perimenopause - I have been on mounjaro for a couple years and went from 215LB to 150LB. I have been stalled for a good year now and have gained back about 12LB. The food noise returned and suppression disappeared. I got up to about 13mg on MJ, but there was no change and it was too expensive to waste on no results. I still have about another 25LB I’d like to lose, my weight is currently stable.

I titrated down a bit to 10mg with the intention of just doing maintenance and even taking a break. Then I discovered I could get tirz for much cheaper. So I’ve gone up to 12.5 using tirzepatide. The suppression is back, food noise is much less and I’m doing better but the fatigue is killing me. I really need to exercise but I’m so tired all the time.

I’ve been researching Reta and seriously considering switching or stacking it with tirz. Still looking into that. - gradually reducing tirz while increasing Reta very slowly until I find the sweet spot of losing weight, adequate suppression and limited food noise - hopefully with minor side effects if I manage it properly. I have pretty bad metabolic dysfunction and insulin resistance and from my research, Reta has been shown to increase metabolism which is something my body really needs.

If you’ve been on tirz and switched over - or if you stacked, how has it been for you? What have your results been? What has worked well and what hasn’t?

Love to hear your advice! Thanks 🙏🏻

Restarting reta

So I’ve just restarted taking reta after about a month or so off of it (I unfortunately had cut it cold turkey so the time off was rough) but I have restarted taking it this past week and only took 1.125 mg this week cause that’s what I had started when I first started my journey however obviously now I am 30/35 lbs lighter then I was when I first started it. I’m still wanting to lose roughly 10 more pounds and despite being on it again this week, I was hoping for a more significant change right from the start on the weight going down and I feel like it’s not really going down at all yet so I just wanna hear from anyone who’s done a second dosing of Reta and what their experience was and how long it took for them to start seeing results again

Progress - 5 Months

SW: 170 / CW: 140 / GW: 135?
I was 140ish in August 2023 when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I was perimenopausal and had been slowly gaining belly weight despite eating clean, non-processed vegan.

I gained about 15lbs through surgery and chemo treatments over the course of 3 months. Then I started the hormone blockers which brought a host of negative side effects and also led to slowly putting more weight on. The oncologist was no help and did not believe it was his lane to help with the weight loss even though all symptoms were a result of treatment. So I took matters into my own hands.

First dose Reta 1.0mg on February 8, 2026. Did not take another dose until 3/8/2026. I’ve been consistently on 1mg until 4 weeks ago when I bumped to 1.2mg/week. I added KPV for inflammation about 5 weeks ago. I walk 10k steps about 95% of my days, still eat vegan and do kettlebell exercises while on meetings at work.

Right Side: 7/4/2026

Dropping weight quickly and husband doesn’t even notice

I started Reta about four and a half weeks ago. I did four doses at .5mg and then one dose at 1.0mg. So far I’ve gone from 163 pounds to 150 pounds. My clothes all fit looser and my belly weight going down is what’s most noticeable.
My husband doesn’t know I’m using Reta but he hasn’t noticed any weight loss at all. It’s super annoying.

Edit to add. I’m 5’1” and a lot of my weight has been in my abdomen and upper thighs/hips. So it’s very noticeable.

Low Dose vs High dose

i’m just taking it because I really just wanna lean out. I started at like 180 and I’m down to 157 and hope to get her around 130. But literally, I maxed out at 2mgs. How are people doing 12 to 13 mg? Like is that dosage more so for people who are 200+ pounds or have risk of type two diabetes. Because the symptoms aren’t bad, but I think if I did anything above 2 mg I’d be sick all the time.

Reta Skinny Fat Female 45 yo

Has Retatrutide actually worked for anyone who’s “skinny fat”?

I’m a 45-year-old female, 5’3”, 125 lbs. I’ve always struggled to lose the last 10lbs of stubborn fat, no matter how clean I eat or how much I work out.
Before starting Reta, I was already eating around a 1,200-cal day and exercising regularly:
Lagree twice a week + Tennis once a week
I’m now at the end of week 4:
Week 1: 0.25 mg
Week 2: 0.5 mg
Week 3: 0.75 mg
Week 4: 1.0 mg (started yesterday)
The plan is to increase to 1.5 mg next, then 2 mg in week 6.

So far I’ve only lost about 1 pound. I do look and feel a little more toned, but I’m not sure if that’s from the medication or just from my workouts.
I’m starting to wonder if I’m working just as hard as I was before Reta, without seeing much additional benefit. For those who were already lean or “skinny fat” when they started, did you eventually see better results once you reached higher doses? Or did you realize it just wasn’t the right med for you?

I’m feeling pretty frustrated and would love to hear from people with a similar starting point.

Not dropping weight

Helloooo!! I’ve been taking Reta since end of March and I have only yo-yoed between 304-297 lbs. currently at 301. I joke that I have a curse because it’s funny at this point - my nutrition is 2000 cals a day, sometimes more, sometimes less. I weigh and track my food 5 out of 7 days a week on average - could that be better? 100%!! BUT I would be expecting something at this point. I titrated up on the schedule, currently split dosing - yes I know this is kinda controversial so please let me know if changing to once a week changed stalls for you - 5 mg a week. 2 mg early week, 3 mg mid week. I am active, walk 6-10k steps a day, work a very physical job 3-4 days a week, and gym 2 days on average, hot yoga/pilates also 2 days on average. Really just reaching out to see if anyone else is in the same boat as me? Do I keep increasing? The food cravings are lessened - about half I would say. But I can still eat a full meal. I’ve been on Ozempic before and it barely did anything- but have been off it since 2024. Thanks for listening to my rant if anything! Love seeing this supportive community 🩷
