career guidance

In this current 'lost generation' and high unemployment I (16F) really want to find a secure, high paying job. I have been considering finance as it genuinely interests me however I have been told the job market is especially tough for high finance therefore I am unsure whether it's worth it to pursue a finance career. I have considered medicine as it has such high job security however I really have no actual interest in it. For those of you already in finance would you recommend it today? Appreciate any advice thanks.
