Aftermarket levers and clutch adjustment
Just picked up a 2023 with 5100 miles on it and have been making sure everything is sorted with it.
The bike came with Gilles levers installed which is nice, but I am having some issues getting the clutch adjusted to fully disengage and shift smoothly between first and neutral at a stop without the lever being adjusted fully outward.
A little AI assisted research says that it’s “common” for aftermarket adjustable levers to cause clutch drag on the FTR, and that our bikes also suffer from relatively pre-mature clutch cable stretching.
Has anybody here experienced this first hand? Am I fighting a battle against a system that won’t ever feel “right”? Any insight is appreciated. This is my second bike, been riding a CBR for a decade now and never experienced this with it over the years.
