PR granted in 2025, moving to Canada soon. Any risk to PR renewal/citizenship given immigration tightening?

We became Canadian permanent residents last year and plan to move there soon from the US.

With Canada currently reducing immigration levels and tightening immigration generally, I wanted to ask this group oof is there any realistic risk that existing PRs who (despite meeting residency obligations) could face difficulty renewing their PR cards and / or applying for citizenship over the next 3-5 years?

In other words, is there some meaningful policy/change-of-law risk that existing PRs should be thinking about over the next few years?

I know that theoretically immigration laws can always change, and we’re prepared for that possibility. I’m just interested in whether people who follow Canadian immigration policy closely see this as a realistic risk for people who already have PR status (as opposed to the tightening we’re currently seeing around new immigration / pre-PR holders).

Thank you.

“My girl just caught me. I don’t know what to do!” —“Say you were comforting her!”

Yo, what you want, man?
My girl just caught me
You made her catch you?
I don't know how I let this happen
With who?
The girl next door, ya know?
Man
I don't know what to do
Say you were comforting her…she was very upset!
Alright…
