I've seen so many games (mainly ones from Indie Cross) that people have combined with Gameoverse, but I feel that Slay the Princess would literally be perfect for this. Does anyone else think this is a cool idea?
Originally, to get the (Call: Cruel King) card, you needed to beat Cruel King 5 times in Nirvana. He slowly begins to realize that you are not the villan he though you were, and two of you bond after each fight. Eventually he realizes you have good intentions, and offers to help you on your quest.
Now, to get the (Call: Blackrock King) card, you must refight a harder version of him in his throne room called Cruel King DX. Instead of believing you to be tormenting him, he blames you for causing the downfall of his people and bringing his kingdom to ruin. After defeating him, you tell him how his actions were harming others. He realizes that, despite being unintentional, he had caused his people to suffer. Cruel King tells you what he saw in the visions, and the two of you realize both of you are trying to stop the same person. He offers to help you as to make up for what he had done, as well as possibly save his people.
I enjoy the new fight, as well as the dialogue options he receives after it, but I prefer the original obtainment method, as I felt his dialogue was better written. It feels weird with how suddenly he goes from hating the player to completely trusting them in the new version. Multiple times he says his actions were justified, but then immediately change his mind as soon as we say he caused people harm.
I understand there are argument to be made for both sides, this is just my personal feeling of how it's currently written. Also, the fact that you can't relay the sleeping guards message has always annoyed me, so I hope they let us do that eventually.
It is possible to skip the Terry cutscene at this part by jumping around him. This means that if you collect the HP card before triggering it, Terry will be staring at an empty platform.
