Random keys stopped working after installing Strawberry Perl (latest version), might've been that or my cats

I don't know if installing Perl is definitively the crux of the issue, but Esc, the Windows key, f7, H, G, Q, W, E, R, U, I, O and P keys do not work anymore (typing this w/ the on-screen-keyboard).

I went to great length to make sure i was doing everything right while installing Perl, as well as to make sure it was a legit file, that the website i got it from was legit. Nothing looked sketchy while or even after installing it, but now the keyboard is being fucky.

Everything else seems to be just fine, and i have a few key-caps missing (old HP Laptop), but it started out with adding a "U" after i typed an "H", and the O key brought up some weird screen splitting settings instead of typing the letter.

None of the key are stuck, at least not physically. Pressing them harder also doesn't do anything.

I also have 2 cats who LOVE lying down on my laptop/keyboard if i don't stop them, and while i didn't see them do that, it's possible one of them did and pressed the right button combo to activate the cursed selective keyboard locking feature or whatever this is in the 4 seconds i left to take a piss 😭

Trying to install perl on a friend's PC

I'm trying to install Strawberry Perl (5.42.2.1) on a friend's PC and it keeps throwing up these scary malware warnings and keeps asking if we're sure, and the publisher is "Unknown".

We got it from what at least looks like the official website* so idk why this is happening.

She also asked if we can install it in Program files because that's where Java seems to be installed as well, but it said it can't install it there because of special characters?
