At-Fault In Accident But Have LDW
I was recently involved in an accident with another vehicle while renting from Hertz where I am most likely going to be found at-fault from the accident. I purchased the LDW but not the LIS. I notified Hertz about the accident immediately after and have since returned the vehicle.
Anyone ever gone through something similar who can share their experience so I know what to expect will come next? Specifically, a couple of questions that linger for me are:
-If Hertz (or whoever their insurance carrier is) will be coordinating the liability portion with the other party’s insurance and where I expect my personal auto policy to kick in? Or, will the conversation for liability be between my auto insurance and the other party’s insurance only?
-Will there be an admin fee involved for the liability portion since I am at-fault and do not have LIS?
