[Plano, TX] How likely is this ugly popcorn ceiling to be composed of asbestos? 1985 build townhome

Heya all, due to retaliation by my current place I have to move out in ~5 weeks, lease renewal not allowed. Toured a few places and found this one. Signed the lease and the person who rents it out gave me the "All about me" document for the townhome.

In that document I see it's a 1985 build which is interesting as I've never lived in a pre 1990 home for.... 25+ years.

So I consult Google about what to expect in an older home and BAM "if your pre 1990 home it probably has asbestos in the ceiling and if it's pre 1981 is DEFINITELY has it" oh and "the plumbing solder has lead". I use water filters so the lead is nbd.

Looking back at my walkthrough photos some of the popcorn is sluffing off of the skylight tube and around the skylight cutout thingy.

How F-ed am I? Please enjoy my photos of the ceiling texture all over the home.

[TX] Landlord is changing rent payment methods abruptly

See title, my landlord is changing the method for rent payment. Previously it was online only as was done via Debit, ACH and Flex through the apartment portal. In person checks were strictly forbidden.

Now we all got an email stating that the only way to pay from July 10th is via Cashier's checks or money orders and the online portal is being shut down.

I have NEVER had to pay rent either of these two ways. See image album for my lease agreement screenshots and their email. I have not signed any updates or addendums to the lease.

Any remedy for me? I'm leaving in 2 months max as I am not allowed to renew my lease (retaliation for complaining about a leaking water heater). S2 leasing (part of S2 capital) is evil.

Honestly if they'd let me leave next month I would....

77 last and the Iron Snail chukkas

See title,

I have two pairs of Russell boots that fit well, the Backcountry and the Expedition. Both 9 D, Brannock is 9.5 D. These boots are on the 40 last.

Now the upcoming Iron Snail chukkas are on the 77 last. Russell explains that the 77 last is more narrow than the 40 last but not by a massive amount and that people are usually the same size between the two lasts.

If anyone here owns both the 40 and 77 lasted footwear from Russell, I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Especially Backcountry and the first run Iron snail chukka owners....

LPT, never live in a S2 Residential property

I'm about to scream.... I have a clearly failing and leaking water heater for a bit over a week, at The Ellington, was Bishops Place a LONG time ago.

Incompetent management and maintenance staff. Corporate calls go to an answering machine, as do emails.

The apartment management will lie to you to your face (oh yeah we're totally getting a plumber a week ago) The apartments themselves are 30 years old and crumbling.

See below for yummy rust water. I don't think I can safely use my hot water anymore. Not sure what options I have left besides breaking a lease (don't want to be on the hook for 4 months of rent) or getting a lawyer and playing that game.
