New double h boots

These are the double H baler. Currently on sale right now on the official double h website for about half off. Snagged them for 169$ with taxes and shipping. I love the pull out effect with the uppers, absolutely beautiful basket weave stamp pattern. Upper is unlined, the bottom is lined with synthetic material I think. The insole is removable and thank god, because it is thin and provides no support or comfort! The thin insole paired with the very hard and tough outsole makes for painful walking boots. But if you want something snazzy, great for hard work, these are perfect. I wear a 9.5ee in round and j-toe, cutter toe shapes, but I went down to a 9ee for these and they fit perfect. I also own the double H Robert’s and the ag7 outsole is just as hardworking but better for walking imo. Also from what I could tell, these are not final sale, so if they don’t fit you can return them another size, shipping at your expense 👍 thank yall so much, these are my favorite boots as of right now

The double h and Abilene boots are both made in USA but the difference is unbelievably huge. The Abilene are a huge letdown imo. Artificial interior lining, a weak artificial and non-removable insole, and lackluster outsoles. I got them off eBay new for 90$ total, a great deal honestly. The double H are my favorite boots, extremely tough and sturdy with the creature comforts of a clean western aesthetic, they’re my daily work boots. The almond j-toe is very elf shoe looking but it gets the job done.

The Dan post Richland have been a massive headache since I got them. They were on sale for 150, and I believe they’re made in Mexico, got the Goodyear welt and everything. The finishing on these boots is top tier, smooth supple leather lining, great stitching, and a snazzy rubber outsole. But the leather on the lower is such a mess. It’s unfinished oil packed pull out leather, so it’s constantly scuffing and looking like it’s cracking. It’s way too stretchy and it feels like wearing boots 2 sizes too large. After a minimal amount of wears, the shaping material of the toe box for the right boot went flat and sags now. The first time I used saddle soap on them it stripped all the oils and left them looking butterscotch beige. I now use a chili colored conditioner for all three because I’m fond of the color and I’m hoping it helps with my Dan post. If anyone has the Dan post Richland I’m curious about the experience.

All three boots are 9.5ee, the Abilene with the r toe fit the most snug, the Robert’s fit fine with lots of dead space up front, and the Dan post are a huge mess with no structure above or to the sides. I’ve ordered some double h union made “baler” boots in 9ee, half a size down to see if it helps with the dead space and fit
