Just thought I’d hit up the Reddit community, as I’m contemplating heading to Puerto for a few months starting in Nov.

I need a place with good reliable internet. That is the #1, I’m open to neighborhoods, Centro, rinconada, zicatela, la Punta, etc. I need a 1 bedroom apartment, not a room in a house. Doesn’t need to have a full kitchen, but at least accommodating for a meal. A little place to work would be solid, extra points for a tall table. Must have AC

Looking for something around $13500 pesos/mo, all bills included, except electricity, I know I’ll use a decent amount of that due to AC usage.

Hunter beat Fed. Told yall that a cold Hunter was a mere shadow of his former self.

H and Gabe both get golds and played great - roll out courts royally screwed them, handing Fed a win in gender.

Kate Fahey loses to ALW but mows the field, she truly is the #2 singles. A much tougher matchup than cold Hunter Johnson was for Fed.

JJ gets silver in MXD. Great partner for Fed which made his W in MXD much easier.

Noe Khlif doesn’t medal or make it to a quarterfinals, I think he got bounced out in round of 16. Yes this was the partner ALW has to drag to finals against gold medal winning AB and H.

Fed was great BUT

1. Fed’s mixed partner was JJ. So he didn’t have to “carry” much there, especially against Kate and Gabe, two lower ranked MXD players. Feddy and JJ both have lots of podiums in MXD, how many day Kate and Gabe have?
2. The fact that the 5’s decided to add Fed and keep ALWs partnership with Noe is such a bode of confidence AND additional pressure on her. Imagine if they had just made the easy decision (like the Shock do) and put their 2 best players on the same mixed team. She basically handed Fed the trophy in this one decision to bare this responsibility.
3. She beat the #2 MXD team without Ben. And not even a top 10 partner. You know how insane that is?
4. She closed out the first dreambreaker, which was also the tightest one. Not to mention, it’s not easy to close out a dreambreaker bc she knows that if she loses that point, she cannot win it on the next point bc you can’t win it on defense. It’s either win it there or have to play at least two more rallies. Incredibly clutch against a #2 Kate Fahey who was also playing VERY well during the finals.
5. All the pressure was on her. Fed got a second chance at life by joining the 5’s, just come on and immediately play with better players and help us get over the hump, ALW was dealing with years of expectations that were not met. And an entire season where she had to battle and carry in MXD.
6. Fed’s dreambreaker was against a cold Hunter Johnson. Hunter is undeniably great but we saw how this whole singles specialist played out; a cold singles player in an MLP dreambreaker is about half the player they are in PPA. Same thing happened with Chris Hayworth, KK and others.
7. Fed had pressure in MXD but two things were working greatly in his favor. Will was hot and Tardio and H were cold in Men’s doubles (for a number of reasons, I think pressure 1 and two those roll out courts are not favorable for off the bounce, creative attackers like them). So he didn’t have to play too much hero ball, as a matter of fact you could say that Will was the hero of the MD games, especially that second one.

What’s your recommendation and why?

I joined a local club recently and they said they couldn’t show pickleball tv on the TVs because of licensing stuff, but I emailed customer support for pickleball tv and they said that even though the agreement says not for commercial use, they said I could show it at my bar (my hypothetical bar) if I bought the subscription ($60/yr) and even offered me a one time half off discount code.

Is this a commonly known thing? Or are pickleball players and owners of pickleball clubs that disinterested in pickleball?

It was kinda surprising given that the MLP playoff finals are coming up this weekend and I haven’t seen anything from
Local clubs about playing the games. And everyone I talked to at the local club (even one of the owners who I
Emailed and he didn’t even respond lol) seemed very disinterested.

Idk, I’m not a good player but I think I’m somewhere around a solid 3.25-3.5, never taken a lesson, don’t really drill, anyway I’m not hyping myself up I’m just sayin’ I learned everything from YouTube and watching pro matches, just surprised at the lack of interest in watching pickleball.
