My B&T USA Suppressor Saga

My B&T USA Suppressor Saga

This is an absolute wall of text but I wanted to share my saga since my first purchase from B&T USA back in 2024. I've broken up the paragraphs with the approximate month that they took place in to make it a bit more readable. I have receipts for all of the email/chats with everyone mentioned below (other than phone call recordings, as I didn't expect this to go on for so long)

  • APRIL 2024

I pre-ordered an MP5-SD-RBS-M suppressor on April 1st of 2024 (this makes me the April fool, of course), with an initial estimate of "early to mid summer 2024" as a ballpark estimate. During this time I was talking to Jared S. when he was the Sr. Director of Ecommerce & Customer Service, and through a handful of phone calls and emails he mentioned that it would likely be mid-fall by the time I had my suppressor in hand. That was alright with me as I was still finalizing getting an AP5 -> MP5SD conversion, so I thanked him for his time.

  • NOVEMBER 2024

November rolls around and I still have no update from B&T, so I reach out again. Jared mentioned that there was some issues they were hammering out with the RBS functionality with the modular parts of the suppressor so they had to re-engineer it over the summer. They were currently in the middle of the manufacturing process and they would likely be ready to ship by Jan-Feb of 2025. At this point I figured I was in it for the long haul, so I told him that I'd appreciate it if he gave me an update when they start to ship. He told me that he would personally see to shipping my suppressor and the first one on his desk would be sent to me, that he'd include some B&T USA swag in the shipment, and that he appreciated my patience and cordiality. In December, I bought B&T's legacy MP5SD (non flow-through, full length) suppressor. I was able to shoot my MP5SD in February of 2025 & I purchased an SD barrel for my MPX for the eventual MP5-SD-RBS-M suppressor.

  • SEPTEMBER 2025

Still no update until I reached out in around September of 2025. I had been checking their website (bt-parts.com) and the order status was (and still is as of 5/18/2026) "Awaiting Fulfillment". Jared replied with a screenshot of a UPS tracking screen showing that it had been delivered to my FFL in June. I ended up confirming this with my FFL, where despite being a member they failed to call me. Apparently, the suppressor I was waiting on showed up on their doorstep (albeit without any of the "B&T swag" he had promised, which bummed me out a bit). So I guess the extra three months of waiting here is on me. But at least the suppressor had made it to my FFL, and I was excited to try out my cool new modular flow-through suppressor (after the tax stamp went through).

  • OCTOBER 2025

I was able to start the transfer paperwork in mid September, and the ATF approved the transfer in late October of 2025. After the paperwork was approved, I had the suppressor in hand. I was a bit disappointed with the finish (it was quite obviously 3D printed) and the color was silver rather than black - when I had initially pre-ordered the can it came from a catalogue that looked like this: https://i.imgur.com/V1UbMEa.png rather than the current iteration which looks like this: https://i.imgur.com/MoeRje0.png

Unfortunately for me, the threading on the suppressor was wrong (I assume it was threaded for the AP5SD rather than the MP5SD), so I emailed Jared stating that I was a disappointed with the suppressor for the following reasons:

  1. It didn't fit either my MP5SD nor my MPXSD's barrels

  2. The finish was significantly different from the can that I had ordered

  3. I was a bit miffed that I hadn't received a hat or something for my 1+ year wait & purchase at full MSRP.

  • NOVEMBER 2025

Jared started a customer support ticket for me, and gave me tracking to send it back in for RMA. He told me they'd fix the threading, cerakote it black for me, and send it back w/a box of swag. I was pretty happy to hear that, but I am incredibly unlucky when it comes to purchasing these sort of things and my wait had just begun. B&T USA had it for a couple of months and ended up sending it back to me in late January of 2026. It was cerakoted well, though I didn't receive my promised box of B&T swag and more importantly the threading/fitment issues wasn't fixed. At this point in the game it seems that Jared's B&T email inbox was no longer active as I hadn't received any sort of update from him in ~2 months, so I reached out to B&T's support desk.

  • FEBRUARY 2026

I was able to get on the phone with Collin from B&T's customer support team in early February (2026) and he informed me that there was a miscommunication between Jared and the CS team as he had only mentioned the cerakote, not the fitment issues in the support ticket, and that I needed to send it back in for their head suppressor tech to fix it. I said sure, what's another two months without my suppressor and sent it back in. Since then, the last time I've had any contact with B&T customer support was in March of 2026, where I was informed by Collin that my suppressor had just made it to the head suppressor technician, and he was looking at it this week.

  • MARCH 2026

...They've been radio silent since that call. I've attempted to reach out over the phone, email, and even here on reddit to figure out where the hell my suppressor is and I haven't heard but a peep from anyone at the company. I've honestly considered messaging them on LinkedIn to try and pull some sort of response out of them, but my patience is honestly pretty thin here. Now with all of the fun B&T AG vs B&T USA drama I have essentially lost hope for this company. Do I need to reach to the ATF in order to get my suppressor back and have a local gunsmith attempt to fix it?

TL;DR: I've been waiting for this damn suppressor since April of 2024, and after it shipped in an unusable state in mid 2025 their RMA department has had it since essentially November of 2025. No contact from customer support since March of this year.
